A couple of Friendly(Gator) thoughts on the game

If Floriday (you) can contain our wide receivers I can fly off the empire st. building, if we (UT) can get any kind of run going to keep your D honest, all you will see of our wideouts is their backs. Take that as gospel gator Jawls.

Minus PI last season, we did a decent job of containing your receivers. Our defense is no pushover. It will be a challenge, I never said it wouldn't be. But we should do a decent job of containing them. I'm not saying they won't be productive or that we completely shut them down, mind you.

Florida- 10
Tennessee - 31

Left out this little nugget huh?

Florida starting quarterback Jeff Driskel was sacked eight times in the game for a loss of 48 yards, including on back-to-back plays twice in consecutive series.

I think I included that in my keys to a UF victory. Yes, this concerns me, but A&M had one of the best D-lines last season. If Driskel gets sacked that many times in Neyland, your score could very well come true.

Driskel proved his inexperience in the A & M game. At the first sign of any pressure, he panicked and scrambled, rather than go for the dump off, or throw it away. In high school it worked because he is fast and big. It doesn't work against BCS college division defenses and he's learning that.

I am sure that this week the coaching staff has been working on screen plays and TE dump offs to alleviate some of that pressure, and that they have worked with Driskel to get him to sense when to just throw it away.

But its a loud place, a tough environment if he makes mistakes early. So while I was encouraged by how much Driskel grew up in the A & M game, and as optimistic as I am about his future should he continue to improve at the rate we have seen in the last two weeks, he cannot afford any mistakes this Saturday.

Well said. I think he will be just fine as a QB, but as a UT fan we certainly need to be loud and try to rattle him as much as possible early on.

Decent job? You mean you got lucky that hunter went out in the 1st quarter?

This will be a very hard hitting and tough game. I think if we played later in the year it could go either way. But, we have the more experienced, more talented QB, and that cannot be underestimated in a game of this magnitude. TN 31 FL 21.

I think Florida is a good win for any school---now is it as big a win as if we were to beat Alabama, LSU, or Georgia? No. I'd also like to preface that by saying this is a depleted Florida roster that we are favored to defeat---and I'd like to say we've got this one in the bag but you never know what can happen. NOW if this were a Steve Spurrier Gator team or Meyer at the precipice of Tebow mania then it would be awesome. Florida isn't "there" yet in terms of talent level or record....but it would be a quality win and a win we need for psychological reasons more than record reasons.

How' that UGA game turn out for you gator fans? I have yet see any posts on here since the dogs "rocked the block", oh yea and the gator's fumbling the ball on the one yard line instead of scoring a td.:whistling:

We got our teeth kicked in by UF at home so we're resorting to living vicariously through UGA now?

Glad you spit up the weed bag 99...that will open up more job opportunities for you. 7-11 still saying that they aren't hiring?
