1. Is Negedu gonna be able to contribute this year or is he gonna have to learn to control his body and get his jumper down better??

2. Is Jurick REALLY impressing that much as far as being able to play right away??

3. Will Tyler Smith contribute better numbers this year with the speculation that Pearl is moving more to a post/inside the arc team??

4. Who will become our outside presence this year with the void of Lofton and JuJuan Smith on the outside??

I'm not Hat by any means but Jurick is super raw and should redshirt and most likely will. Outside threat will be Cam Tatum most likely.

Tatum will be huge this year. I see us being a better half court offensive team than last year. I don't think we will be as successful in the press with taller guys.

I don't claim to be as smart as hat, but I'll give you my thoughts on them.

1. Negedu will compete and get some playing time this year I think. From what I've heard, we going to a more post play offense so we need the depth and Negedu is a talented young man who can help us out with 10 or so mins a game

2. Jurick is very very raw and should probably be red shirted from what I've heard.

3. Yes. Tyler will be a stud this year and be a lottery pick in the draft.

4. Our outside game, kind of scares me. Hopson is the obvious first answer, but he's more of a slasher, but will contribute to the outside game. I also think the Woolridge and Tabb will also be two guys who we'll look to for 3's along with Maze and Tatum

You guys have not been reading that Jurric is looking impressive enough as a defender/rebounder that he might play? There is considerable talk that its a possibility he plays.

I went to the scrimmage and here are my thoughts to your questions:

1. He's a strong player and has some inside moves. Not sure about playing time though.
2. He looked a little awkward at times and I see him redshirting.
3. Tyler Smith was hitting three's consistently yesterday and his ability to work down low is still impressive. He'll be the heart and soul of this team.
4. If Tatum gets healthy he'll be a threat, Hopson and smith can knock them down as well as Chism. Didn't see Maze attempt too many 3's though.

I'm actually against a "3 point laden" offense. I like the "2 point" basketball.

TN has had success with shooting 3s the past several years, but I think shooting a higher percentage shot is going to yield a more favorable result in the long run.

I think the high-tempo, fast pace of TN basketball could be even better if we weren't just jacking up 3s all night.

Taking it to the rim, getting the other team in foul trouble/fatigued is really important as well.

1. Negedu is going to be a force inside. He's raw, but he is STOUT. He may not have big numbers but I'd expect to see 10-15 minutes a game providing some quality minutes.
2. Jurick should redshirt. So far he's looked like garbage compared to the other options we could put on the court IMO.
3. I see Tyler playing around the perimeter more this year. He's trying to grow his pedigree as a slasher or guard player so he can make it in the league after UT. In the scrimmage saturday, he was hitting from deep.
4. Outside our leadership is going to center around Josh Tabb and Cam Tatum if he can stay healthy. BMaze will put up some numbers but I wouldn't count on consistent positive leadership from him. The wild card is if Scotty Hopson leads by example.

That being said, we have a great chance to make a deep run this year. At least one sport should be atop the SEC this year.
