a concern about bama.

Bama's secondary has some weaknesses, saban is aware as michigan burned them on two big plays. Never can tell what injuries may happen but Michigan is flat out overrated. We have to put together 60 minutes, that is the key.

I really hope bama comes out on offense trying to get all fancy on the vols. That just ain't their game, and I think it would backfire. But I doubt its gonna happen. Theyll line it up and run up the midde, either utill TN stops it, or til they can blow the roof off with play action.

I really doubt we will beat them, I mean come on... We are not ranked and they are #1 in the country... Last year our first half was great because Dooley took risks and most payed off. If we make big plays and take risks we may play a good game. I dont think 8 minute drives with lots of pounding the rock and short yardage throws will be possible, so Bray may find all the offense is from deep play action throws and screens under pressure.Playing them close and rattling them instead of them rattling us would be a win in my eyes. Look at Michigan, lots of people thought they had a chance and they got crushed. Agree?

Do not agree. When Tennessee and Alabama meet, rankings mean nothing. Weird wild things happen when schools with that much shared history start knocking each other around. The game will make the next week or two very difficult for both teams after all the punishment they'll heap on each other.

You seriously think we can win? I won't accuse you of being crazy, because you are more experienced as a vol than me, but I just can't see it..

I don't expect to win, but I know its possible. In 1985! Auburn brought Bo Jackson and a #1 ranking into town. They were gonna show us how its done. Noone knew who we were. Sports illustrated came to town to do a story on Bo. They left with a story about a skinny quarterback named Tony Robinson and a Volunteer defense that was tougher than nails. At one point, one of our linebackers cracked his helmet open on Bo's skull. Bo went out with a concussion, said defender grabbed himself a fresh helmet and went right back in.

To be fair, we already thought we could beat Bama. This isn't a result of the NCSU win. Nobody said we were GOING to beat Bama. We're talking about what it would take to POSSIBLY upset Bama. So just get out of the thread.

IMO the key to beating Bama is taking calculated risks and getting lucky. You play them orthodox football straight up and you mine as well be spotting them 14 pts because that's where their level of talent starts. You'd need to risk throwing the long bomb. Try maybe an onsides kick. Go for 2 if it's close etc. You'd just have to pray you win some. Basically you have to shake them up by being a little unpredictable and lucky and have them trying to over pursue and over produce.

A lot of people are just very optimistic. It makes it more fun that way. Some people are overly-optimistic as well.
But keep posting.

Happens everywhere bro. When we were dominating and Bama was in our position they thought every year they could beat us. Nothing wrong with having hope, look at Vandy.

If I was a vandy fan I'd be hoping the Myans were right.

Isn't it September?
After one whole game?

What in blue hell are any of you doing discussing Bama?

They are real good.
UT may be good.

Let's just wait until October to worry about the #1 team in the land.
