A calculated move by Jimmy Sexton? (merged)

What I love is how ADs fall for Sexton's scam. They act as if he is the only guy out there who represents people capable of coaching in the SEC. Any AD worth his salt would tell him to shut his dixie fried mouth and speak when spoken to.

Amen.

Enough AD's take that stance, and he'll be singing a different tune...either that, or his coaches will be finding new representation.

I hate to hear it as much as the rest of UT fans, but LSU/Georgia are both better jobs than UT right now. The earlier poster was correct. Prospective coaches right now dont put very much stock in distant tradition, ala General Neyland. They care about the here and now. There are far too many advantages at Georgia and LSU for those jobs to be below UT. If we polled prospective coaches TODAY, you would find that they would choose both Georiga and LSU over UT. I know that is hard to hear. I dont like it anymore than you do. But its just reality. If we step outside of our UT bias we can clearly see that.

Sexton is just like Scott Boras. He's not really powerful, he's just dealing with incredibly weak people.

Right now they are, of course. What coach wouldn't want to go to a program that's currently winning championships and top ten nationally. But if the programs were all in a similar situation, I think ut is the better of the three. I think in the end money is the deciding factor, and few can offer more of it than UT. After that I think national prominence comes into play and tradition comes into play.

What was the story about Sexton and Reggie White? I heard some people mention it but don't know the details.

You can take it or leave it. I own a barber shop and talked to someone very close to CPF. Told me off the record CPF will retire at end of season . This is someone who talks with CPF almost every day and they spend allot of time together . He is someone who would know for sure. You can believe it or not but he isn't the trainer or my brother in laws cousin who's a janitor at UT , Hes a very credible business man.
