is whether he holds Hiestand accountable for our o-line playing like complete pussies or he goes the Fulmer route and never gets rid of anyone. I think Hiestand is getting the least out of what he's got than any other position on the field. He needs to be on the hotseat.
I agree with this. Although Dooley has shown that he wasn't afraid to get rid of Chuck Smith who was a high school buddy and friend.
Just no reason to be that bad running it.
The whole staff needs to be on the hotseat, honestly, do you think that that team looked prepared in any way?
Secondary looked bad, D-Line looked bad, play-calling was bad and so was certain game management.
Sure the O-Line has been the weakest link thus far but this team in it's entirety played like crap all night.
All coaches are to blame. All players are to blame.

Our center can't snap the damn ball man!!!!!!!!
These guys aren't All-Americans, none of them, he can teach technique all he wants, if they are too much of a ***** to get any sort of push, that isn't his fault.
I hope I'm not still a dips-it if I agree with you, but Hiestand does need to go. When Dooley was hired, I felt that 2012 was the year in which he could actually be assessed and anything in the first 2 years were acceptable. But, some things are pretty obvious and, when you have negative rushing yards in the first 2 SEC games, there's a problem.
We have a lot of talent on that line. There's no excuse for going backwards, and that's exactly what has happened. You need to make you up your mind; in the post above, all of our coaches suck. Now, while considering our unit that by far been our biggest disappointment, you're pretending like the coach should get no blame.
You're an idiot.
I said all coaches to blame and players to blame.
You're the jerk-off saying that all the blame should be on one coach...we sucked from top to bottom tonight.
I don't think the coaches suck, so please stop creating something that isn't there, I still like our staff but they flat out sucked it up tonight.
We have a lot of young talent at multiple positions, O-Line is no different but these guys aren't as good as everyone made them out to be, they just aren't there yet, look around to any decent football team and see how many start Sophomores like we do.
Good luck with that.
That a boy. Of course, I never said all the blame should be on one coach. But, I think if anyone was asked what the biggest disappointment of this year would be, any sane person would say the offensive line. That's the point of my post. And you go from bashing the staff in one post to taking up for the one who objectively has done the worst job. Good for you at being completely incoherent.
You can't read...that is now obvious.
You are the one putting a spotlight on one coach and one coach only, I said the entire staff and all the players deserve blame, not just one coach.
It is obvious that the O-line is the weakest link thus far but he can't go out there and make them get a push, now can he?
Let's face it, these guys may be talented but they just aren't ready for big-time football.
Switch it anyway you want to, what I said and what you said is just right above...for anyone to see.
I was out of line with that. I admit it and apologize.
No prob, and you are right on the money with the OL. These are young players, but they have been in the system long enough and are talented enough that negative rushing yards in two SEC games is a reflection of a deeper problem, likely in the coaching.
I'm not switching anything. Jesus. Our offensive line is the reason we can't move the ball. It doesn't take a genius to figure that out. They run the ball worse this year than last year. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out either. Our receivers have improved, our quarterback has improved, and our line continues to suck. That's the point of my post. It doesn't take any "switching" of people's words. It's really not that complicated for most.
Everyone can see that the O-Line is playing like crap in run-blocking...but why would he be the only coach to get any blame?
The team looked bad all around, in virtually every aspect of the game.
I see what you are saying but what O-Line coach is going to get squat out of this group? They can only teach these kids so much.
It would also help if it weren't obvious when we were running the ball, formation and down distance gives it away every time, we are a predictable offense.
The blame shouldn't jut be on the O-Line coach for our running game, more to it than that, any genius can see that.
There's simply no excuse for it, Unimane. When we're getting thrown for losses when they're dropping 7 and 8 into coverage, the problem is in the coaching.
He coached in the NFL, they don't let just any moron off the street in.
Problem falls on Heistand, every player on the O-Line, Chaney for his predictable play-calling and Dooley for not correcting the situation.
He should be the one to get the blame because his title is "offensive line coach." Our running backs leave a lot to be desired, but there's not much they can do when UGA's defensive line is sitting 4 and 5 yards in the backfield every play. That falls in the lap of the o-line coach.
Taking this, "Oh, come on, now. We can't blame the o-line coach" approach is a pathway to mediocrity. Hold him accountable just like every other coach on the staff. Right now, he's doing the worst job, and it's not even close.
And he got fired. Chaney's playcalling isn't the reason they can't run the ball. We get thrown for losses when we run between the tackles, run outside, run misdirections, run reverses. What the hell else can you do?
And I agree that it falls directly on Dooley if he doesn't correct it.
So the players get no blame?
They are ultimately the ones on the field and have to be held accountable as well.
Like I said, he can't go out there and block for them, they gotta make it happen.
Dude can coach, that is why he is here making a fortune...the players need more experience and time to get better.
They are not ready for big-time football, simply put.
They are going against better competition and it shows.
