98 Vols vs 2011 LSU

Henry carried the team - Lewis wasnt missed at all however the 98 team had several close calls (Syracuse, Arkansas and Missy st) LSU had 1 (Bama)

Tennessee won out, but if they could have a healthy Lewis the entire year, I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have been better.

Fine. It was an over-exaggeration. Still, 1998 Tennessee was luckier than a lot of teams that have won a BCS title.

I'd say the 2002 Buckeyes, 2003 Tigers, 2006 Gators, 2007 Tigers, 2008 Gators, and 2010 Tigers were all luckier.

The 2004 Trojans, despite their dominance in the title game, had plenty of close calls, too.

LSU by far. We were lucky to play a very average FSU team missing their qb and we still struggled to put them away. If we had played K State or UCLA that year we may not have won it. The 01 team was better from top to bottom.

They weren't an average team at full strength...but we certainly didn't play them at full strength. The 2001 team was better.

Not really. Ohio State had the phantom PI call. LSU got into the game with two losses. Even Miami(the supposed GOAT) was 10 yards away from possibly losing to BC before a wild deflected pass.

I'm convinced that Ohio State team was a 4 loss team that just got really lucky.
