It's worth remembering that those teams didn't play 3 top 10 teams at this point in the season, and we did.

Actually Alabama and South Carolina's schedules have been just about as difficult as ours to this point, per Sagarin.

Ole Miss's SOS is #101, Vandy is #46, KY is #65. Memphis is #63.

TN, Bama and USCjr are all in the 20's.

i guess you all haven't noticed who's checking in at a cool #96.

you guys, while it sucks, have an excuse. a talent depleted roster due to three coaching changes in three years.

florida, on the other hand, supposedly has talent galore. 2 sr wr's, a jr qb, 4 sr o-lineman, etc, etc, etc.

not that you would know it.

It is terrible but it will be that much better when we improve in all of these categories in the years to come. I am sure in 1988 when we went 0-6 everyone was totally disgusted. Then we won the rest of our games to finish 5-6 then go 11-1 the next year. I doubt many expected that to happen when they were 0-6. That's not to say the same thing will happen here but you never know.

Not much anyone can do but give the players and coaching crew a chance to clean up what the recent changes have destroyed.

These stats just attest to the things that EVREYONE has been saying since before the season started...i.e. we are young on the line, inexperienced at the qb, and will be VERY inconsistent...I can't wait until next year...I"M GETTIN' PUMPED ALREADY!!!

thats awsome...im so glad we didint hire a spread offenseive cordinator like auburn did....

For every team running a "pro-style" offense there is ten teams failing miserably at running the "spread." Regardless half of the situation concerns personnel, and hiring someone running a different system and personnel would be like throwing gasoline in a fire.

Albeit Malzahn does impress me with the deception often involved, he is running Power, Iso, Counter, Sweep. Real innovative concepts that those blasted pro-style teams run.

An undercenter/dropback team with zone running and supposed Norm Chow passing concepts can be just as successful. It's rather irrelevant at this point -- oneback, air raid -- chow/scovill, option. It's part of the process and this personnel isn't particularly good at anything, but is geared toward the current system, as well as future recruits.

I highly doubt Malzahn would be in any shape or form an improvement. Bill Walsh would struggle to run this offense.

What a shame. It would be nice to have at least one bright spot.

Did anyone notice how many sacks were given up when Bray moved the team down the field against GA? That's right. He gets the ball out quicker.

Your not serious are you? With the lack of speed this team has, serious roster concerns and no obvious dual threat QB...a spread option offense would have been a complete failure.

No. I was only concerned with what Tennessee has done so I didn't look further.

With Florida having lost a 3 year starter at QB and several other talented players, losing Strong as DC, losing Gonzales (a very good recruiter) and continuing with Addazio as OC was going to have a negative impact on Florida no matter what some of the kool-aid drinking Gator fans thought.

Even though UF may be struggling, it probably won't take UM long to make the proper corrections with personnel or game plan and get this team headed in the right direction again.

Keep an eye out for FSU though, they have improved.

I think the O-Line has performed better than the stats indicate. They have made holes in the running game, despite teams lining up to stop the run. However, Simms' one weakness is his inability to throw the ball away. There have been numerous ~ 4sec sacks this year. The OL does have trouble picking up stunts.

Sacks are a double whammy - diminishing what would otherwise look to be an effective running game. I feel the need to look up data!

Edit: We've lost a (net) 101 yards rushing with sacks over six games. So, about 17 yards per game. That's a big double whammy.

I don't know how our defense is 78th. Seems too high, they've been pretty horrid all year. Give the offense to Bray after the Carolina debacle and run with it.

FWIW they are ranked highly in pass efficiency defense, 43rd, and 67th in rushing defense, 44th in tackles for loss.
