Honestly, he should have won. Hornung should have never sniffed it due to team record. The two OU guys cancelled each other out.

It should have came down to Majors and Brown. Clearly Brown was better pro but both had similar TDs and total yards. Tennessee was far superior team.

Let's call a spade a spade. The Northern media in 1956 didnt want a backwater Southern hick to win it or a black guy...
