How do you explain Michigan State then? Against OSU they are 3-2 over the last 5 years and have won 2 out of the last 3 years, yet OSU has been in near the top recruiting wise with MSU at 22, 29 and 35. Based on the lack of 4 and 5 stars MSU should not be competitive at all yet they are year in and year out among the top when they shouldn't be.
Michigan State has been good for sure, but not great. They may have spoiled things for Ohio State last year, but that was because Urban got out coached, not because he has less talent. Bottom line though is that even though Michigan State has been good, both Ohio State and Alabama have something MSU doesn't, national titles. They also got utterly destroyed by Alabama last year and probably would get destroyed every year by them.
MSU has great coaching which allows them to perform at a level of 8 out of 10, but Bama and OSU have great coaching and a trove of 4 and 5 star kids that allow them to perform at a level of 9 or 10 out of 10 on a year in and year out basis. I want Tennessee to be like that, not like MSU.
