@Freak it would be a nice feature to have a volnation fan poll. The poll would open up after the last game finishes and close at 12:30pm EST on the day the AP and Coaches polls are released. The AP website has a wonderful fan poll selection tool in case anyone more tech savvy than I has the ability to duplicate it and program it to calculate and release the poll just before the coaches poll comes out.

Something to amuse us junkies!
Thanks

Such bull. We beat a tough 4-0 SEC team that beat a good Arizona State team, on the road no less. Vandy gives up 35 to Utah State and climbs 2 spots. The AP is a complete joke. It seems way worse this year than in years past.

Jaded sports hacks fill out their ballots in a moment of spare time (while they’re on the john?).

Yeah based on how the polls were I saw this coming. As it does most years, it will mostly sort itself out in the end but there will still be issues with the system. For example, Tennessee should have had Indiana at home last year, albeit we weren’t really that good and were lucky to be there. This year, we may be more deserving than another team that makes it and still not get in. If we can take care of the games we are favored to win, we should make it. The Oklahoma game is our least odds to win in games we are favored to win and ESPN gives us a 63% chance of winning that game. Every other game id lopsided.

Oh god, would love to come on here and see so many ranking mid SEC teams over really good teams from other P4 conferences “because SEC”.

I've said it before and I will say it again. These rankings are a joke. A lot of this is predicated on where some over-ranked teams started the year.

No, Ole Miss isn't the top team in the SEC. They might not be a top 4 or 5 team in the SEC. They beat an overrated LSU team at home who got their ranking after beating a bad Clemson team. LSU has not scored 24 against a P4 team all year.

If OU is #5 and A&M is #6, then why isn't Auburn ranked especially if Notre Dame is ranked with 2 losses? Of course, Notre Dame never has fallen out of the top 25 but the resumes are similar.

We may never know during the regular season how good Penn State or Indiana really is because their out of conference schedules are bogus and with 18 teams in the conference they play about 3 ranked teams with most considered average or below.

Do we really know if Ohio State is head and shoulders the best team in the country? I guess you rank them there but the win that vaulted them there is a nail biter at home against Texas. Texas is a top 20 team but based on play they don't look top 10.

There has already been some discussion about Iowa State and how an Arizona St team is ranked over a 1 loss Miss St team that beat them.

These AP voters know about as much as high schoolers who study this for the rankings.

They are just waiting for this to shake out like the rest of us because there is not a lot of effort that goes into it. It's really too early and just for entertainment purposes.
