most honest being that our negative words hurt recruiting and this program, no matter how many want to admit it. i get that there are people on this site that prob are actual trolls, but i believe that for the most part a lot of the bad stuff said on here are from people that actually wear orange. its still football and these are still kids (dont give me your money argument - go spend it somewhere else if you cant accept the good and bad). i wish there was a separate paid site where those could go to voice their ridiculous mean comments when things dont go well

I bet there's sone negative vibes on the Georgia, LSU and Florida boards now. Their recruiting should take a nose dive soon. Or is it just UT?

I don't have a problem with coach criticism. I would def. consider myself a negavol (although I wasn't upset with the coaches even at halftime from a play calling/scheming standpoint. We just looked super tight, missing catches, getting penalties, etc.)

That being said I'm not on board with the booing. No need to boo a college football team with a bunch of 18-22 year olds. I get that people were booing the coaches, but the players hear that and know the score. It's just uncalled for. If you wanna boo pros making millions, go for it. But don't boo at college games.

I don't call out individual players but I will give my opinion on coaches. That stuff happens everywhere though. I have seen it and I do find it pretty disgusting.

Some folks should really try to wait, at least 24hrs, before posting that sort of thing. You might be surprised how different you tone becomes when it's not in the heat of the moment.

You mean truth. What fan base doesn't have negativity besides a very select few? LSU is still in the top 5(2017 rankings) with all the negativity, and that was before les getting fired. Negative fans having an impact on recruiting is a load of BS

I do not like booing either but I can understand it at times. This team(120) was hyped since the end of last season.Until the second half of the fla game had not lived up to that hype.Sad thing about going to games in Knoxville when the Vols are expected to do well is that it costs dearly.I bought my fla/TN tix in July & paid $235 each, had to pay $50 to park & all the other expenses from being in Knoxville all day for the game. When people have to pay high dollar amounts & the coaches make high dollar amounts as well, then when a subpar product is what we have been getting then I can see where it boils over.My oldest son(17) attended the game with me.He did not like the booing either.I told him they weren't booing the players but maybe they were cause the play calling was ok.The execution or lack of was more the problem.I think for the most part,Volnation is behind our coaches & our players.I am quite sure both coaches & players can hear when Volnation approves of what they do & the majority of people will always support effort & not quitting even if we come up short.Truth be told,we all have to put our big boy pants on & if coahes & or players are not performing up to what is reasonably expected, then they may need to hear that too.My apologies for the long reply.

If they're not doing well, boo them. If they're doing good, cheer for them.

Or

We could give them all participation trophies, and tell them winning means nothing.

If effin matters for crying out loud.

Bunch of soft skin betches.

First off I would not boo at a college game, but having said that, I understand why the fans were upset at the end of the first half and I have not seen it mentioned specifically. With 30 or so seconds and a couple of time outs, why not run a play and see what happens? You never know. One missed tackle and you could get a touchdown or stop the clock with a time out and kick a field goal. It seemed like with the time left along with time outs, that the coaches gave up and just chalked any chance at getting points before the half. If the game was close, of course take a knee and live to play another down. However, being down 21-3 and giving up, even just 30 seconds worth, of a chance to score points was extremely frustrating. Hence the boos. Boos that were directed at the coach's decision to go to halftime without even trying.

We were at home, got the ball to open the half, Dobbs and the receivers were not clicking against a very dangerous Gator defense. We needed to go in and regroup, and we did. As frustrating as the game was at the time , it was the right move.

Then switch to them. You'll fit right in. As for the rest of us we actually like UT and are happy with the great progress.

A long time diehard Vol fan told me last night he has quit going to games so much because it costs him around $1000 per weekend. That's pretty stiff. (not far above what it cost me the last couple of times I made the trip) What bothers me, sense the UCLA game a few years ago, has been lack of EFFORT. Watching players on the sideline playing around and quite a few not paying attention,, well if they don't try, the I don't pay to support them.

Lack of effort? You're out of your mind.

There is booing and then there is throwing stuff at the players. Again, from my experience it wouldn't be very exciting for a high school kid to be hearing very racial slurs and negative shouts being made at players that the "fans" cheer for. I do know first hand at half time some of our fan base was throwing stuff at the players going into the tunnel. It wasn't pretty.

Fans affect recruiting 100 percent. Vanderbilt could have nick Saban there but he wouldn't recruit at the level he does because they fan base is so small. Small market vs large market.

It's unacceptable. Some of the idiots on this site were probably in the group doing so.
Thank you Travis for all the work you put into playing and giving your all for UT. I know you weren't always treated well and that still pisses me off. But just know the majority of us appreciate you a ton.
