9/22 Dooley Post Practice (Video)

You have no idea what you're talking about. Take a break.

If you have more talent and you outwork your opponent, you should defeat your opponent 90% of the time. If your opponent has more talent than you, then you have to make up the gap with hard work. The last time I checked, UF, UGA, LSU, and UA all have more recruited talent than UT.

Maybe this logic is too old school to be successful in 2011.

Let me guess. Didn't make it on the practice field past peewee, if at all?

There have been some valid points about this drill, and it's intended emphasis on technique.

You do realize that just by staying AFTER practice was over and doing EXTRA work, they were already going above and beyond?

Joe Vols has provided some humor for the board today.

Bless you sir.

Play a sport before you comment. Have you coached your child in a sport or do you plan to in the future? I would love to see the intensity those little kids bring due to the demands their great coach Joe Vols would put on them.

Go Hard or Go Home huh Joe?

I was on a full athletic scholarship in the SEC, but I may have misspoke regarding the intensity of this drill, especially after considering it was a voluntary, after practice drill.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they practiced like this the entire time, worry. This is one drill taking place during Dooley's post practice interview. Plenty of other things to worry about.

This is a very valid point.

I have been an advocate of showing patience with this staff and this team, but when I saw those players going through the motions, it did give me reason for pause. I am thankful to all of the posters who allowed me to see things in the proper perspective regarding this drill.

FWIW - Dooley doing the CBS thing this weekend is awesome...it is awesome for getting the program out there, it is awesome for recruiting, it is just awesome!!!

Still a half speed drill? We don't play at half speed (watch the Floriduh replay) so why practice half speed? How can you prepare for the UF's, UA, UGA, and the LSU of this league, with this kind of intensity in any drill? Doesn't make much sense.

If all of our other drills are given this lack of intensity, heart, and physicality, no wonder we didn't handle the "buzz-saw" very well
last week out of the gate.
If Dooley is happy with "this" effort, I would hate to see how bad Tuesday's practice must have been. This effort won't beat the big boys of the SEC. I wonder what Muschamp's, Spurrier's, Miles', and Saban's drills look like? I'd be shocked, and quite frankly disappointed, to watch any of those teams practice, and see this kind of effort, even in warm ups. Just sayin'.

Oh, and let me add, I'm disappointed to see it at a UT practice.

If you're not pushing your teammates in practice, you're not helping them get better. Maybe this explains the running game around here lately!
Please don't post about things that are way Over your head. Those are the worst kind of fans. Just say GO VOLS, or something to that effect.

Yes there have. Maybe next time you that you don't know something, I suggest posing a question, before making a ranting, assumptive judgement regarding said topic.

You are right. Either way it will right itself. We will all know a more about the players, and the coaching staff in 2 years.

I don't understand what some of you are talking about here. This video was taken when practice was already done, so what little bit you can see in the back ground of the guys practicing doesn't mean anything to me.

Jeez get off Joe's back already, the guy has already stated with maturity that he takes a different perspective on the issue, so quit talking to him like he's a dang child.

Maturity? Maturity wouldn't have led to such an original post. With maturity, you become aware of topics before spouting off about them.
He was actually going to be let off the hook, especially with his retort about the guy who called him a DA.

There's maturity in owning up to the fact that you're wrong, too. At the time of that post he didn't think he was wrong.

He was mature in his response, I never said anything about his original post. Whatever though, no big deal. Go vols.

Agree 100%. But a "mature outlook" has nothing to do with the original post or observance. It's more of a nigheve outlook. (naive looks like nave so I adapted)

What I should have said was "the guy was mature in admitting he was wrong so let's be mature and not crap on him with arrogance." There. I never said anything about a "mature outlook" as a whole or whatever you're talking about. You don't really make sense quite frankly, so leave me alone about it. Thanks.
