I couldn’t find an 85 scholarship roster anywhere so I tried to piece it together using the media guide (players listed as having schollys minus Janzen) and participation charts. I was trying to make it easier to see what the actual recruiting needs are and how much eligibility players have left. From the best I can tell this is the list, if you see something wrong please post the correction. Thanks

Dooley needs to pull a Saban and cut some dead weight with the LBs to make room.

Remember that Slive and the boys maxed the SEC out at 25 not counting gray shirts. Was that effective this year or next?

T Williams transferred, right? If not, that guy needs to be playing cause he is a beast. I assume his scholly will be given to the walk-on from Alcoa (name?)

I think you can still sign over 25 if you are under the 85 limit. Not positive. There is a loophole.

I think the only way to sign more than 25, like we did this year, was by back-counting them against the previous class. Since we signed a full class last year that isn't an option, regardless of the total of 85. Not sure exactly how back-counting works though.

Gooch will not leave the program. He was in hog heaven to just play in the games that he did play in.
Also, no other school, that I am aware of, will give him more playing time.
Anderson's dad is an aluimni, so he stays.

Yeah doubt Dooley pulls the plug on Anderson.
But couldn't Dooley tell some kids they are going to have to move to Walk on status?

Scholarships are yearly and he will not hesitate to do it if he has to.

^^ Speaking of yearly scholarships, when can coaches start offering 4 year rides?

Dooley needs to explain to these kids and their parents that they need to be VFL's in the truest form, and then move them all to "preferred-walk on" status. Let their parents front the bill, then petition Slive and say we have zero players on scholly, we need to sign 85 kids right now.

No more depth issues.

Jaron Toney is the kid's name and apparently the staff thinks fairly highly of him OR WE HAVE NO OTHER OPTION!! SAD DAY:unsure:

Not many seniors for next year so looks like we can sign maybe 14 for 2013 class?

Next year would be Anderson's 5th year, so maybe he just graduate this spring and everyone avoids an akward situation.

if we have 82 and 12 are leaving for sure doesnt that leave 15 spots?

I'd say ericvol is right in that we will see 7-9 kids leave the program - that would get us to 22-24 commitments for this year which is really close to a full class

that would seem about right and get us finally to having the full 85

Sadly we may lose a few early to the NFL and I am sure we will have defections like always.

We will probably sign 20 or so again in 2013.
