Came up with the same list the other day. I didn't know if OC-Cody Sullins and LS-Morgan Cox were on scholarship? Either way we have room for Bryce Brown or David Oku!

I am thinking Chase Nelson got a medical RS last year when he blew out his knee in summer camp and he will be listed as a JR. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure I understand why we can't sign 25 this year. The real issue comes in the fall when we can only offer 85 scholarships.

Spring training seems likely to reduce this team's size as some will say this is just too much work. So, don't we have room for Oku, Brown, Charles, and Geathers, and two more to be named later (using the 25 maximum)?

I know it's unlikely we get them all, but hypothetically speaking.

Noted and correction made. Thanks

I assume the schollies will transfer to this year also.

Unless I'm mistaken, many of these players are on year-by-year scholarships, so it depends on what happens this spring concerning current players earning 2009-10 scholarships. It's going to be a tough spring practice.

I am sure that Kiffin would love to sign 25 players this year. Of what I have read, he does not want to add players just to add players. He wants the right players (see Tajh Boyd as an example).

Yes, I totally agree with your statement.

My point is that we have more room than a count of current scholarship players and commitments indicates.

However, if Kiffin applies the same logic of 'fit' to the current squad that he has throughout recruiting season, it only makes sense that some (probably only a few) won't fit.

List looks good, except I thought Pope was being groomed as center?

And if we somehow did not end up getting either Bryce Brown or Oku, there are guys on the roster who could go back to rb: Vereen, Hawkins, even Rogan if he had to.

Meanwhile, at fullback, I think we have more guys there ready to contribute than we have had in a long, long time. Yay.

Our O-line situation for 2010 is downright frightening. RB is thin, we really need to land one of the remaining big fish.

We are stacked at LB and DB, and D-line looks more promising than I had thought.

Though none are OL, of this year's recruits, 4 are here now and available for spring practice, a DT, a DE, an LB and a RB. That will help a little.
