8 for 17 seals the deal..

I still don't understand Lofton not getting to the line once.. He's got to draw contact more often when he penetrates. Conley did it all night long...

Agreed, but even taking that out of the equation, we make two more free throws, we win the game.

Literally makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm trying to keep this in perspective: nobody in their right mind predicted the Vols would get to the Sweet 16 and play a #1 seed (possible National Champs) down to the wire, TWICE.

But right now, it's hard.

I'm so proud of this team, but it's still hard to let this one go.. 8/17, a 20 point lead... You get the picture.:ermm:

The 20-point lead is what kills it. I had at one point 15 congratulatory text messages lined up on my phone from my friends around the country wanting to know where'd we been hiding this all year. ("15 new messages"? WTF?!?) Once the second half started, I really didn't hear from anybody.

I started the second half watching the clock and thinking it couldn't tick down fast enough. Unfortunately, the team played like they were doing the same thing.

Conley made whoever was guarding him look silly all night. He got to the rack whenever he wanted to. I didn't really notice, but I'm guessing Josh Tabb didn't guard Conley very much tonight... if at all.

I am as heartbroken as anybody, and it hurts more coming from a team that I just plain don't like, but I'd rather be heartbroken in March than be out of the tournament and looking for a coach like two years ago. We'd better get used to this feeling. If you don't win the tournament, you're going to be heartbroken at some point. I think it's great to be involved in the tournament on what I hope is now an annual basis. We have been involved in some great tournament games the last two years. Our players will get better this offseason and come back as a stronger team next year.

Be careful what you say ukvol, being optimistic seems to be a crime to some on here.

Lofton did go inside a few times in the game, but that was during the 1st half I think. And you are right, I think everyone was asleep as to cutting off Conley. What sickens me is when Tennessee just sits back and lets a team throw up a three from the side and knock it down, nothing but net, like last night when they were ahead 79-76. I have always questioned some of these so-called fouls called by the referees in these games. If that would have been Tennessee blocking the last shot of Ohio State to keep them from winning, they would have been called for a foul. :frown:
