Why can’t we at least be a 8-4 or 7-5 consistent team at this point, I would take that why do we have to be so bottom of the barrel terrible. It’s no excuse with all the resources we have that we can’t at least be as good as Miss. St. and South Carolina or Mizzou. We may never see a run of success like we had in the 90’s again I will harshly accept that after 10 plus years of constant losing but we should at least be a 8-4 or occasionally a 9-3 team.

You must be dyslexic. I'm sure you meant 4-8 and 3-9.

Yes we should and there is no excuse for it

Resources? Do you mean players? We don't have many good players. Coaches don't play the game, players do. Yes, we should be at least a 9-3 team. But our previous coaching staff didn't do a very good job at providing a competitive roster. Any coach we have right now isn't going to see immediate success. However, there are some bright spots. There will be more in the future. Even more in the distant future. Right now, tonight, we had a D line going up against an O line that has an average size bigger than most NFL teams. Did you see all the true freshmen playing on our team tonight? I am proud of how hard they played tonight. The result wasn't good, but at least now we are progressing a bit.

We're top ten program all time. We don't get there by going 8-4. We expect more and 8 wins is what got butch fired

I find it mindboggling that Penn State can rebound after the trouble they were in. Baylor is doing pretty well too. After what went on in those programs, they should be the modern equivalents of SMU. But they are on the map and UT continues spinning in the mud. It is time for the Vols to get back on track. No excuses!

Penn State made a good hire the first time, we're on our 4th coach in 11 years and still don't know if we have the right one or not

Those states produce talent. We do not. We have to go into surrounding states to pull enough talent and right now that is hard to do in every direction.

Game management is real bad. Didn’t cost the game tonight but certainly helped make it a blow out.

So when we win less than we won last year, what's your argument?

Mainly because we lose most games by 25+ points. That’s why.

I disagree completely. You may not have heard of Jalen Ramsey or Cade Mays. Trey Knox and Woodi Washington came out of middle TN last year and are doing well for other teams. Ever heard the name Tee Higgins? Vonn Bell? There are loads of talented kids coming out of TN and deciding to play elsewhere. Talent is here in state. I am all about getting talent from other states, but if PSU and Baylor can make strides for improvement, UT can as well; with in state talent or talent from surrounding states.

There simply isn’t one. There is no legitimate argument for Tennessee being 1-4 right now.......zero.

There are lots of arguments for Tennessee losing to Georgia......but not for their record and not for how awful they have plyed.

Wrong. We produce talent, it’s just most of it goes somewhere else to play now
Wrong! We have 11 4 stars or higher this year....pretty typical. For instance ga has 34....then we pound our chests when we “steal” one from them. Hell they can only take half their 4 stars and up. Also most of ours are in Memphis where it’s very touchy to recruit. It’s a tough place to recruit and we can’t even break into the top ten while Pruitt still has something new to sell. Not good
