I'm sorry you think so. It wasn't meant to be a joke. I posted this before I read about the Baylor player having to give up basketball.

My son was worked up for Marfan at age 6 due to being very tall and thin for his age and with horrible near-sightedness, a combo which should alert healthcare providers to check deeper for Marfan. (He doesn't have it. He's just really tall and blind as a bat.) People have dropped dead from aneurysmal aortic dissections, including Olympic volleyballer Flo Hyman. It's a very real concern with extremely tall people with bad vision, caused by a genetic defect in connective tissue. :hi:

Ah my bad I misread into it hope your son is doing fine

Very understandable, seeing as how snarky it can get around here.

He's fine; 31 years old, keeps Walmart Optical in business, and is a connoisseur of fine beer, most of which he can't afford.

He was reported to be a good rim protector with decent hands. How does he fit our system any better than pops?

He's 7" taller for starters, and showed more offensive moves and ability in that 3 minute clip than Pops did in an entire season.

He has been in the Knoxville area before. He was actually in school in Tennessee last year. Moved from Senegal to the States a few years ago to play basketball.

He is more coordinated at his age and size than I expected. Hard to tell about his foot work because he obviously doesn't need much against HS competition... just catch and dunk. No doubt he can make some guys alter their shots at the college level. Would like to see his percentage, but he showed a nice stroke from the free throw too.

Seven footers don't seem to be in demand as much in recent years, but he's a take, not a priority by any means, but a take nonetheless. Interesting offer for sure.

It would be nice having a defensive presence his size in the middle...He'll be good for a lot of offensive rebounds too...He certainly isn't going to out athletic anybody but he could turn out to be a decent ball player in college...He is certainly intimidating thats for sure.
