Hey, just wondering who will be doing the punting duties next year? Or are we going to so good we don't need one?:)

Add a RB to the original list and a late surprise that we aren't expecting. Cause that's the way Butch rolls!! :loco:

I'm pretty sure Medley is a proficient punter as well as a great place kicker....we still have Darr either way I'm pretty sure?

You know I thought Darr was a senior. That's why I was asking and the fact he hasn't really done all that well. I was wandering if Medley would do the punting along with place kicking. CBJ must be somewhat comfortable since he hasn't recruited a punter. or may encourage a walk-on maybe?

Per the UT Sports roster, Darr is a RS Jr. You're right about his effectiveness though. Hopefully Medley is a killer

We have a transfer from Wyoming in to punt next year.

Darr and Palardy came in as #1 punter and kicker together. The above is correct........I think........

I don't know how he's going to balance numbers ultimately. Right now, they don't have enough saying their are committed to have a numbers problem. Now they are poised to have a balancing act, but to have a numbers crunch you gotta go from being near or at the top with guys to those guys calling and saying they are in.

The realty is that there's a real chance that some good looking prospects may get told there is no room.

The one thing I think it's safe to say is that this staff is adept at getting the talent we need and in the case of JUCO's, the ready talent we need. I don't know if they'll be 100% successful but evidence thus far suggests we're not settling for who we can get. We getting who we need and who we want. Having said that, I think it's clear we need and want Adoree Jackson and Clifton Garrett among others. Dreams may not always come true but no way I'm betting against this staff.

I'm not sure how we pull Adoree on NSD considering we will likely be completely full by then. UNLESS he became a silent and Butch held his spot.

You know I forgot about those two. Wasn't it Brodus or Bullock that broke their leg ? That's quiet a list, hopefully we will get a good one when the dust settles after they battle it out. Also, forgot about the guy coming in from Wyoming.

I think we'll be just fine with or without them. I hope they come here! I really do but if they don't I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Take off Jackson and Dews GS gives us 23 right now.

I have this as our final 7.

Malone - 4 - WR
Barnett - 4 - DT
Hendrix - 4 - DE
Garrett - 5 - LB
Jackson - 5 - DB
Evan Berry - 4 - WR/DB
Elliott Berry - 4 - ATH

Why would anyone doubt this staff won't blow this class out of the water?

I don't anymore.

I see that this class has 4 WR & 2 T.E.'s. Man, we will have alot of receivers. Add those 4 W.R.'s to our current receivers and also possibly add a couple of players who are capable of playing either defense of offense, Evan Berry, Vic W. and we have close to 10 W.R.'s.

Posted this a while back in the Elam thread.

This would be the final 8.

Berry
Berry
Barnett
Mosley
Elam
Hendrix
Juco OT - Blair
Juco DT

If we miss on anyone one of those, we fill with the next best available. However, Elam should be a priority, imo.

I agree with not losing sleep over it but I'm believing anything is not only possible but probable with these guys. So I won't be disappointed but I won't be totally surprised either. Not anymore. :)

Raleigh is 4.5 hrs. I've driven it. Miami is 11-12 hrs. Do you have a point? My point is Miami is a hell of a long way from anywhere. I like your posts Ron but you understand my point here.

Raleigh to Knoxville is closer to six hours than 4.5 hours. I have driven it many times from my home in Rocky Mount. If he goes to Miami, he would have the opportunity to come back to the RDU area 2-3 times per season when the Canes visit UNC, NC State, Duke, and Wake Forest.

I haven't followed recruiting that closely this year but I did see a LWS post that he still believed we take a QB this recruiting class. Any viable targets at that position?

The staff is targeting NCSU's QB commitment, McClendon. They've tried to get him to visit multiple times but no visit yet. Apparently the staff really likes his him. I don't believe they're going after any other '14 QB's. I think they like what they have in Dobbs and Ferguson and will likely push pretty hard for a top tier '15 QB.

Getting Jackson and/or Garrett is not impossible.

Never quit Butch. The UT brand is better than both UF and LSU.
