Same story with them every year. It's almost pathetic the amount of love they get in the early polls every year. Never liked them with Paterno. Dislike them even more with the blowhard Franklin

Penn State was devastated by their loss to Oregon. At home, the white out, all the hope and expectations, trying to end their streak of losing to top teams, and AGAIN they failed. That game took their soul and they haven't recovered.

Actually it doesn’t. Because the playoff standings haven’t even started yet so the current polling is meaningless and literally has zero weighting on the actual playoff standings that will start being published in the first week of November.

But sure, let’s get our panties in a wad over two polls that have zero weighting on the actual playoff standings that will decide who makes the playoff.

Am I the only one who really isn't surprised by this? Penn State is the classic bully program, beating up on bad or lesser teams that can't, or don't, fight back, and they finally ran into a bottom feeder that punched them in the mouth. The result isn't shocking at all.

Now we'll see what the biased fools who vote on these polls will do with Penn State. By rights, with wins over FCS teams and losses in their only FBS games, they shouldn't sniff the top 25, but because of the inane "preseason" rankings that had them at #3 based on the return of a QB that has yet to beat a good team in his career, they'll likely still be in the mid teens.

People are really crying and moaning about possibly getting screwed in a poll that has zero weight on the CFP Rankings but has voters who vote with this kind of logic and thinking:
