I’ll be at the game.

At this point, I’d be shocked if there wasn’t more Tennessee fans in the stands.
If Stoops gets fired before then, which I doubt, I wouldn’t be shocked if more of their fans come as a show of approval. They hate the guy now. Feeling seems to be mutual.

Stoops will not be fired this year. Kentucky is not willing to bite the bullet on it because of the buyout. He will coast for the rest of this year and they might get rid of him when the buyout goes down. They will owe him a lump sum of $40 million. That is insane.

They’ll fire him after they end the season with a loss to Louisville, when their hatred will be at a fever pitch.

Right, that’s why I said I doubt it would happen. However, crazier things have happened. If you mean he won’t be fired even after the season, I kinda disagree. I don’t think he will be back, whether that means a buyout or he somehow gets a soft landing like Tubby Smith did, IDK. Either way, I don’t think he’s the coach next season.

Tubby was still winning - albeit not at the clip many of their fans wanted - and got pissed about a midseason media release that was going out from Barnhart that didn’t explicitly show a vote of confidence, so he took it upon himself to get another job and gave them the middle finger on the way out. Stoops is a lame duck who hasn’t done much of anything during his career other than beat up on cupcakes. He wants to jump from a sinking ship but is holding out to get his buyout money.

Uggg...not that we SHOULD have any problem with KY, even on the road, but making it a night game in Late October does not stack the deck in our favor.
We don't need to stinkin' help stacking the deck. It's already stacked in our favor:

1. baby brother.
2. 2-3 right now, heading for 2-4 before we play them.
3. already dialed out of football, waiting for basketball.

We're gonna play around with some tame little kittens for a few hours in the aisles of the nearby Kroger. That's all this is. Day or night, doesn't much matter.

Go Vols!

You are correct, but Tubby was 9-7 in each of his last two years in the league. His last two teams lost the first weekend of the dance. His seat was hot. Your point is valid about Stoops just waiting to get the buyout, but I was just saying that he may try to get another spot if for some reason he wasn’t fired at seasons end.( A huge IF) Again, youre right though, any job he would even land wouldn’t come close to what he stands to gain by getting fired. May as well go the Costanza route.

KY fans didn’t know how good they had it under Tubby until Billy Gillispie rolled into town. Tubby made it to at least the round of 32 in each of his ten seasons. Not the standard their delusional fans expect but 99% of programs would love that to be the worst case scenario every year.

Saw this floating around the internet and thought was interesting.

Past 5 seasons % of home night games:

Alabama-49%
Arkansas-23%
Auburn-41%
Florida-50%
Georgia-28%
Kentucky-53%
LSU-83%
Miss St-42%
Missouri-39%
Ole Miss-44%
South Carolina-54%
Tennessee-31%
Texas A&M-49%
Vandy-40%

Most have roughly half their home games at night.Tennessee, UGA and Arky are the outliers at the bottom and LSU the sole school significantly above 50%
