Per John Brice, Pruitt gets a 6 year deal at roughly $4 million per year. On top of that, gets a $5 million pool for coaching staff "best in the nation". I am loving that second number. Should get some quality assistants.

Says he took a lower salary to get a bigger pool for his staff.

he also lists some possible assistants by name, including Lance Thompson returning.

Tennessee making unprecedented financial commitment to Jeremy Pruitt and staff

Its about damn time UT started paying for quality assistants. The players needs some good solid coaching and outside Gillespie I dont think they were getting it

$5M for assistants is nice. Hopefully he doesn't work on the same buddy system Butch did.

I love that he negotiated a lower salary for himself to boost his assistant pool! I'm liking this hire more and more!

This is outstanding news, we are actually serious about winning again. No more of this bargain basement stuff, we may actually put together a real honest to god coaching staff.

Really speaks to his character that he wanted a lower salary in order to hire the best staff possible. Those people that are crapping on him for wanting to finish out the playoffs with Bama haven't got a clue, this guy definitely seems like the type to finish what he starts and oh boy is he about to start something.

Will be a lot more if that 4m excludes Belk Bowl, Music City and Liberty appearance bonuses..

Hope he can bring Marion Hobby into his staff. Good coach, and would help lift some of the bama homer critics preasure.
