Whoops, I'm now realizing you said, "Koufos or Faried" and left McGee off.

The average C gets 2.1 Bp48...Koufos gets 2.7
The average PF gets 1.2 Bp48...Faried gets 1.8

So I'd say they do protect the paint.

With Barnes at the 4, one of the bigs your advocating playing has to be out there to guard him. After he quickly gets by that guy, he has a free run to the rim. If the other big slides over, it's free offensive glass time for the weak side big of GS. If a Denver big cant punish Barnes in the post on the offensive end (what Z is talking about), then Karl has to go small. Denver cannot guard Barnes at the 4.

Faried can't guard Barnes? I'd guess Faried would eat his lunch. Bottom line is either McGee or Koufos should be out there the entire 48 minutes matched up against whomever the Warriors have at the 5.

Who really thinks McGee couldn't score on Barnes? It'd be a nightmare for Barnes, and he'd have nothing left in the tank for the other side of the floor. Bigs wear on teams. The more they wear on you the more effective they are. You can't play them for 14 minutes and then give up. That's like giving up on the run in the first quarter of a football game.

Faried can't guard his own defensive position, so how the hell would he guard someone his own size who is also quicker than him?

And when did Harrison Barnes play the five? You want to play Koufos and McGee at the same time? Their offense (which is all based on spacing) would be screwed.

(1) WTF??
(2) No. I want one of them in at all times.

I'm not really sure how to answer this because I think Faried is one of the best defenders in the NBA. He has trouble against Pau Gasol-types, but I don't see him having trouble with the majority of SFs. He's quick.

McGee gives his own coaches nightmares, not the player who guards him of defense.

Centers combined for 25 minutes in this one (and a few of them were simultaneous). Got outrebounded by 8. They played 19 of those minutes in the first half and were winning by 12.

They were winning because the Warriors kept turning the ball over

This one is real easy to figure out. The Warriors shot 24/30 in the paint!!! That has to be why they won beause they shot 18/50 otherwise. They were able to shoot 80% because Denver only had a center in for 23 minutes of a 48 minute game. I've gotta believe having a big shot blocker in the whole game would've improved their chances.

In 25 minutes, Koufos/McGee had zero block shots and their +/- was a combined negative 1. They had two rebounds. You keep saying "They should be playing more" when during that playing time they aren't doing much anyways.
