6 Reasons We Should Back Dooley

I wasn't thrilled when I first heard about the hire, but now I am. After watching that presser, it's clear that this guy is qualified for the job. Plus, now I don't have to defend and support a dbag all the time. We get to be a classy program again. And I think we will get to be a top 10 program again under Dooley. After all, "Tennessee is the essence of college football."

It'll take some time, but man what an exciting ride awaits us.
Go Vols!!

Since when does a press conference make you a qualified coach? Kiffin couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag but won 7 games.

People need to get things back into perspective. Are we so desperate for healing that Kippy can take the podium for 5 minutes and be declared the people's choice for HFC, then this guy comes along, hits a few softballs, and is suddenly Tennessee's answer to Meyer and Saban?

Let's let him figure out if he wants to run a 3-4 or 4-3 before we praise his coaching skills. Or, you know, coach a down like they did in the old days.

So you're saying you're satisfied with 7 wins?

Do you really think the reason we won those 7 games was because of our stellar offense?

No, it was our defense. You're a fool if you think the reason we had a barely winning season is because of K____n's coaching skills. He had an all-star cast that did a lot, if not most, of the work.

I'm not saying this guy is freakin' Lombardi, but he deserves a chance.

It matters not what he runs, he is our Coach. So either get behind the man and support him, or quit being a VOL fan!

Kiffin took us to a new level of coaching, recruiting and expectations.

You missed my point entirely. Oratory skills do not equate to coaching skills. Personally, I think Kif had neither and was leeching off of his posse.

Kiffin took us to a new level of coaching, recruiting and expectations.

Coaching - Try to keep the losses close and complain that the wins should have been by larger margins.
Recruiting - Lie, Cheat, Steal
Expectations - *sigh* Give the devil his due. He got us all pumped up.

Then we are in agreement. What I was saying in reference to him being qualified to be a coach is that I would much rather have that guy coaching my kids than Kiffin. At least my kid would learn some respect. As far as X's and O's go, only the future will tell. No one really knows if he is going to be able to win us games against Saban and the likes. But I think he is better suited to coach than Kiffin. Put it this way: Would you rather have a classy guy like Dooley and a 7-6 record, or Kiffin with a 7-6 record?

Can't argue with that. Record for record, give me anyone BUT Kiffin.

Regardless of where he was on the so called list. He is Our Coach and we need to get behind him. If you dont, you are not in my opinion a VOL fan!

Nicely said, so sick of so-called vol fans bashing this guy before he's even got his feet wet, i think some of these people want to see him fail already, even though it would mean tennessee losing to do so. Atleast he has a little passion in his presser, unlike LK, that guy is like a young, bill belichick, no enthusiam. If there all self proclaimed experts, why didn't any of them get the job offer????

OR.... I could be an optimistic Vol fan without drowning myself in orange Kool-Aid over a press conference.

It has nothing to do with your so called Koolaid or the press conference. It's about our program and our team. If you don't support CDD than you don't support the VOLS. It's that simple. So don't call your self a VOL fan.

Now that I have actually seen your name, I see that you are nothing more than a troll anyway. So I just wasted some precious minutes of my life even replying to your post,

I support him, but he said it himself... Trust is earned. Blind loyalty is for sheep.
