IMO, both of those are a problem. they have recruited poorly first off but the development is probably the bigger issue. the system may be too complex for some to handle also, from a management standpoint of making the adjustments. Adjustments are critical..

Faster, bigger players are sometimes just not smart enough. If they need a person smart enough for the position they may have to sacrifice the speed or find a person who is fast enough to make up for mistakes made.

I'm not sure we really know if Kirkland, if healthy was the answer. He struggled with the position but was fast enough to make up for the mistakes some of the time.

As for Jumper, I don't think he is as bad as most folks want him to be.

I'm in the camp of "He's better than any other option." I'd rather have 11 people lined up correctly and 1 liability (easy folks, I know we have more than one liability. Just making a point) than 1 athlete and 11 people lined up incorrectly. Jumper's a liability and we know that. We don't have the DL to cover up that fact. We don't have the DBs or OLBs to cover up that fact. How much more porous might this defense be if we were lined up incorrectly on more plays?

Honestly the hate for jumper is rediculous. As a fan I hate to see it. The kid plays his heart out and has been big in a few wins for us. The coaches know more then you

I wonder sometimes. I know to line up the defensive linemen on the ball.

The best play jumper could make is taking himself out of the game. Hehe, he sucks sooo bad and is an embarrassment to be in the 2 deep. I'm sorry I shouldnt have posted that. I'm sure he is a good person though

Man I would think the other 10 player's out there on D would be pissed since Jumper alone has given up all those rush yards and passing yards...I mean he should really care about how that makes his teammates feel to be SOLEY responsible for it all.

Several miserable humans on here tonight. Don't even try to reason with it. Misery loves company. Don't think I could live like that.

Best explanation so far. I am now ok with jumper. Most realistic post. You are not somebody trying to tell me he's good or a gamer. He's a liability that occasional makes a good play. He's a blind squirrel with a big heart finding an acorn.

Having heart is great and Being able to help other pre-snap is great but when the ball is snapped each and every person on defense has a responsibility. I find it extremely hard to believe that the rest of the defenders are so dumb that they don't know what they are supposed to do and Jumper has to tell them before every play.

Were screwed if a team goes hurry up on us then.

Who gives a rats *beep* if he plays his heart out. Hell I would too; doesn't mean I deserve to be on the field. Kudos to jumper for the comedy show of whiffing on a division 2 school. It's hilarious to watch at this point and I get a good chuckle when I see him trot right back on the field every series. Just kidding, I really want to throw the remote at the tv. Call it what it is. Our defense, especially jumper, is a joke. I don't know why people want to hide behind "Oh GT was an outlier." Lol ok.

He's really a decent player. There's far worse on the defense, but they're not walk ons so apparently we ignore them

The rest are under developed. Jumper just straight up is not athletic enough to compete in this league. Idk about McDowell

Jumper had three tackles and one assist yesterday playing 90 percent of the snaps. Ignont had 1 tackle playing two snaps.

the fact that they have not been able to recruit decent linbackers is the problem. Blame Butch and Thigpen. Everybody wants to keep Thigpen b/c of alleged recruiting ability. Where are the LBs then?

People trying to sell us on a fat chicks personality after we have seen the picture. This is an analogy of both Jumper and Thig. "Jumper is so smart" "Thig is a great recruiter". Some people never take off their beer goggles. Shoop is also starting to look like a fat chick.

Last one: Jumper could have had a fumble recovery in traffic but in all of his genius he tried to pick it up for the scoop and score and the kicker is, he was not going to outrun anyone anyway.
