Merge if needed, but I was wondering if any of you knew the meaning behind the "517" t-shirt A sticker saying ?Beat Tennessee? was taped to the door outside the program?s interview room on Monday and there are massive banners at the football complex urging the same. Durham wore a T-shirt with the numbers ?517? on it and acknowledged it had something to do with Tennessee but refused to say what it meant, hinting there would be a steep price to pay if word of the T-shirt?s message got out before the game.

BTW, and sorry for the ignorance.

Who is Durham and what exactly did the bumper sticker say?

That means we have averaged beating them by 20.68 points a year...not too shabby.

Hope that number is at least 518 on Sunday!

Maybe they'll get to make another one next year that says "550" but I'd settle for "518".

I'd be damned if I would ever wear a shirt exemplifying my program's abject failure...whoever thought that was a good idea must have been in on hiring randy (hold on, I gotta text Cut for next play) sanders.

The fact of the matter is they are preparing for this game more than any other this year. Everyone else took a bye week before the Bama game, they took theirs before the UT-KY game. There is the thread about early morning film sessions and now this discussion about their focus on the number 517. I wouldn't be surprised if the t-shirts were sleevless and they are doing a lot of reflecting over large bodies of water.

I think we have the players and coaches to beat Kentucky but I'm worried we won't "want it" as much as they do.

They bought a load of shirts that were printed Alabama when Auburn hired Chizik. They were supposed to say 5-19 but the guy printing the shirts was a product of the Alabama school system.

once again, and in typical ky failure mode, they will be too jacked up to play well in this game. vols win going away. book it.

I think UT should have a bunch printed up and the Players and Fans should all wear them.

WOW! what a strange idea for motivating a team.....

"We really suck, but maybe we'll get lucky THIS year"
