Decent points. We have lots of athletes, so I think the quickness of their turnaround as a team is gonna be the key. GBO

Qualifies this “how UT wins” pretty firmly:

“... it’s a pretty safe bet for most people that they’ll be 0-1 soon enough.”

“...this is a bad match-up for the Vols.”

“But could Tennessee football pull off the upset? Yes, they absolutely could. It would take a miracle...”

“So yes, there is plenty of reason to be pessimistic about this game.”

“However, maybe there is some cause for optimism. Pruitt’s team is probably going to lose on Saturday, but they could definitely do the unthinkable.”

“As far as putting pressure on him, there are a lot of different ways to affect the quarterback. It could be by pressure disguises. It could be getting your hands up and staying in pass rush lanes or pushing the pocket up the middle. I think you have to pick and choose you spots. Anytime you bring pressure, it puts pressure on the back end in the secondary. As I have said all along, the defensive backs place the limitations on your defense.”

-CJP

Grier is a spaz when under duress. Knocking him off his rhythm by bringing the hurt and abuse is the key to winning. But I wouldn't call it an upset.

This is going to be like 2006 vs Call. We shock the world.

I remember that game so clearly. Cal fans on our message boards for 2 months telling us, "this isn't your father's Tennessee". I stopped by the grocery store on the way to the game to pick up chloroseptic strips so I wouldn't completely lose my voice screaming at the game. It was the loudest I had heard Neyland Stadium in 4 or 5 years...and it was an electric environment.

I am going to go out on a limb and predict Grier will be better under pressure this season.

Grier will be OUT of contention for the Heisman by week 2 of the season.....
Some NFL team will draft him in the first round based on his arm strength and his height and then will later realize that it was a mistake.

That’s still the best game I ever attended in Neyland. I was just a kid but the atmosphere that game was electric

Here’s to hoping that Pruitt and company can provide you with many more memories that will overtake that one.

I weep for you if that's the best game you ever attended...lol

Well that’s what happens when the Vols started to how downhill when I came of age. I was a freshman the year Fulmer retired. I was on campus the night Kiffin left and I attended the basketball game where Dooley was introduced.

So yeah, I’ve been a fan during the worst football in history.

Goes to show I’m not a fairweather fan, mostly because I’ve not been able to be.

Here's the best reason the Vols have a chance to win. Other than at the QB position they have by any objective measure better athletes. Minimize WG's impact on the game and let the big dogs eat!

One reason UT will win is because Knoxville is closer to Charlotte than Morgantown? LOL Most WVU fans wont be driving from Morgantown. I only have a 3 hr drive myself.
