That’s, unfortunately, not how the system for 5-7 teams getting to bowl games works, though.

It’s entirely decided by Academic Progress Rate numbers, and even then it can only be offered in an order based on highest APR score.

6-6 is a "PUSH" and gets a Bowl Bid (albeit maybe the "Birmingham Bowl"...but at LEAST a Bowl)

UT vs Florida State...rematch 20 years later with two 5-7 teams facing off. Oh how far we both have fallen.

That would actually be a pretty cool matchup, and I for one would enjoy the drama surrounding TN being Pruitt's warm-up for the FSU gig in about 2-3 years. The media would find a way to inject interest into this game as well. Great idea!

If we end up at 5-7 I really hope we get a bowl bid just to see if you follow through with this.

Absolutely not IMO. If you can’t manage to win 6 qualifying games, no matter schedule, you don’t have a leg to stand on as far as deserving a bowl game.

I completely agree but those extra practices would be nice. On the flip side I'm not sure the extra practices could even help us or that getting boat raced in a bowl game would either.
