4ohm vs. 8ohm

I have bose speakers 5.1. They are rated to handle 4ohm or 8ohm so which ohm setting should I set my reciever on?

That all depends.... does the volume go to "11" ??

LOL, yea and I can pump up the jam, pump it up til ya feet are stompin, pump it up til ya feet hit the floor so get ya booty on the dance floor:dance2:

The power rating will change based on what resistance you choose to use. So just be careful of that, make sure you don't send too many watts to the speakers. :hi: That would be decently hard to do with a good set of Bose... they are probably rated pretty high.

4ohms = lower resistance = more power to flow through.

So yes, in some manner of speaking, 4 ohms is more power.
