Injuries are a big part at LB especially, but where is our DLine at? Get some penetratiom

OBrien was kicked off, Kmac stepped in, got hurt, Vickers got hurt too. That's three players out from last week's two deep

Kmac Vickers and Obrien were there when Georgia and aTm ran all over UT this isn't the first week it's just the worst, not to mention bams was shredding UT from the start today. Before the injuries

Linebacker depth. The d line typically doesn't stop the run, the linebackers do

Regarding our defense ONLY, at the end of the 3rd quarter, it was 35-10. Of which 14 points were non-offensive touchdowns. At some point, when your offense can't stay on the field, your defense tires...especially one missing half of its starters.

Yes, our defense got walked all over, but I can overlook that.

What I'm having a hard time looking past (well, I can't) is how bad our offensive line is, how bad our play calling is, how we are NEVER prepared to play offense in the first half, and finally, we've only played two decent teams so far (A&M and Bama which is better than decent).

DLine is an integral part of it. They have to take on blocks prevent oline from getting to the second level and get penetration. When a defense gets run on the way UTs has its more than the LBs

Yes. Both units are injured, and most of Bamas rushing yards came in the second half.

4-2-5
Bama ran all over everyone running that d
So predictable to dismantle a 4-2-5 , plus our depleted roster .
4-4-3 would've helped us against the run but , Ridley.

It's been a weekly trend and bama was gutting UT in the first half. They had over 300 yards of offense in the first half and they weren't airing it out. They had 245 yards rushing at half, so no they didn't get most of it in the 2ND half

I should clarify, most of their yards up the middle came in the second half. In the first half, they were beating us to the edge. Their receivers were doing a great job blocking our corners and our linebackers couldn't play sideline to sideline

Alabama is a bigger & stronger football team. We never looked like we physically matchup. We have to get some size out there. Hurts was as big as any of our linebackers. We will not beat Saban with a small, undersized team. Simply will not happen. They are the standard. And we don't measure up. Three star recruits don't stack up to all those 4 & 5 star studs. In any way.

Alabama is that good. Combine that with injuries, and that is what happened.

The end scores of all Bama games haven't really been that close. Even OSU had a scare today. When Bama can't out-talent, they outlast with their bench.

It's simply Bama then everyone else.

Bama is a well coached, well conditioned team that plays every single play to win. They attack from the start and they NEVER take their foot off the pedal. I was shocked when Bama did not try to score at the end of the game, I think Saban felt sorry for Butch & the Vols. ALL OF THEIR RECIVERS,BACKS,TE's block until the whistle blows. Our wr's(except Jennings) te's,backs will go through the motion of blocking, but will not hold that block. Bama wraps up on all their tackles, we don't. It seems like all of our starting linebackers & defensive backs play on special teams, maybe some of these 2nd & 3rd team players should have been playing kick off coverage from the start. These guys are just so gased, they play hard but are just gased. Our offensive play calling is just too predictable & we throw so many passes 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage that end 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage. This is not a second half team, it is a second half coached team. We get down by 2 or 3 td's, then our play calling changes to attack mode. All of this starts with coaching. The only thing relentless about this game was Nick Saban & Bama!

The 4-2-5 is better against the pass than the run when everyone is healthy. When you are on your fourth string lb they will get exposed quickly. Might we be better suited to run a typical 4 3 at this point? I know our lbs really struggle covering the boundaries or shedding blocks.

This! Anyone who knows anything about football which Volumnus does IMO, could see. Plain as nose on face in the mirror action.

We have 1 starter that would play at Bama, Derek Barnett. That alone should tell everyone all the need to know
