Vols need to play hard enough and well enough to avoid boo-birds. Oh and a little better coaching would be nice.

Just saying.

So you're basically saying to hell with our future? I will boo and make those that want to commit not commit? At some point the fans have to realize that this years team is not very good. This is the start of a process to get better. If you are going to boo, donate your tickets that supports the University regardless of the outcome.

Never boo a team that gives their all. They chose to wear that orange. If they aren't talented enough to win in the SEC, that's not their fault. Smh.... Fans suck.

So class and being supportive of "your" team is contingent on whether they meet "your" standard in the short term?

If it is year 3 and the team is still making the same kinds of mistakes or the coaches still "look" bad... then maybe you boo. I wouldn't because the next guy needs the players once the current guy is gone... but if it is really all about "you" then boo. But booing 6 games into the first season is pretty ridiculous.

FYI - I never said I boo'd the Vols....

Just making a point about how they can attempt to avoid the boo-birds.

Every fan has a right to boo if they so chose and frankly this team and others recently have given Vol fans very little to cheer about or be excited about.

If the team was playing their hearts out and given maximum effort and passion then why did CBJ have a private meeting with the Seniors this week to tell them flatly that they were not doing enough or giving enough effort and were not being a good example to the younger team members? Why did CBJ tell them they had to do more and give more effort and be better leaders?

If you ever want something to be excited about then you give your support in the stadium unconditionally. You go if you can even when they're losing... even when you expect them to get thumped.

Someone said something about it not being worth the effort to go even for $10 because they aren't great. Well speaking as someone who never gets to attend in person due to distance and obligation... I'd pay $10 just to get to see the Vols run through the T in person. I'd give $10 to go to the Vol Walk and yell encouragements.

In fact... I'd pay a good bit more than $10 to do that.

No Ma'am you did not boo me - you resorted to name calling. But that's what VN and this country have become.

When someone doesn't agree with another's point most simply resort to name-calling such as yourself, instead of regular normal discussion.

I'm just messing with you, don't be so sensitive. I just get tired of everyone taking jabs at our players and our coach. It's obvious that we are rebuilding and better days are ahead. If you feel you need to boo, then don't waste your money going. Just wish our fans were a little more realistic about where we are.

For the record, I'm a man, but live in a town with a woman's name. It's in AL, where we vol fans have thick skin.

Boo Birds need to STFU this weekend.

People like you are crazy. Booing happens everywhere. I dont boo but im not sure complete silence is any better and surely you dont expect fans to keep cheering when the bad stuff starts piling up. Id be more concerned about celebrating to the highest decible when we do something worth cheering about, thats when the chill bumps set in and gives them something they cant get everywhere else. Only a few places can have 102,000 screaming fans, good luck telling them to STFU. :loco:

Meh....I don't personally boo....and I see it as counterproductive, but there isn't a darn thing you can do about it. This is just another recurrent discussion that accompanies down times.

I remember folks booing in 96-97 because coaches called a running play. Not just down years.

I pulled up TSR on the radio yesterday and they were debating the booing. Can't remember who it was, but they had a point in that we use to debate the booing of the opposing team. Now we boo our own!
