Don't know if it's been posted, but here is Gerald Jones' quote about whether he was doing the finger pointing in the locker room (from TOS):

"I have heard that," Jones said of the rumor. "I have never taken shots at Crompton. I have never said anything negative towards him and he has never said anything negative towards me. We are always positive. That is one thing good about Crompton. If we make a mistake, he always says 'My bad, we will get it next time.' And we move on. There were no negative words.

Jones and Crompton were seen in somewhat of an animated type discussion following Tennessee's last offensive play on Saturday as Crompton clapped his hands and pointed at Jones, who had run the wrong route. Jones said he was angry after the final offensive play but he was not angry at his quarterback."

I am sure it was just emotions. I really hope the Vols O pulls their respective heads out of their butts and play like they want to this Saturday. The wrong routes and miscommunication was totally unacceptable.

Were both of the Crompton/Jones miscommunications due to Jones running the wrong routes?

Jones also acknowledged that he ran that post route too flat when Teague would have run it tighter... and that resulted in JC's first INT.

That one is on CLK and is probably part of what he was talking about. I'm not sure after the first game why Teague wasn't in there. He and JC obviously have chemistry that JC and Jones didn't show against UCLA.

Be careful what you say. There are a few fans on here that will not accept that anyone is to blame except Crompton. Placing any blame on Kiffin is the cardinal sin.

Now if only Luke Stocker would step up and say that the other int was his fault for running a lazy route when he had 100 lbs on the corner everyone might get off Cromptons Ass. Think about it. Would we really be beating him up if two of his 3 int's where his recievers fault? Half of his inaccuracy problem last year was no discipline in the recieving core(1/2 route running and 1/2 Stupid Clawfense.) Oh yeah and how about the O-line step up and say we never gave Crompton anytime to throw the ball. Don't take this the wrong way I am not saying that Crompton is a great QB. I am just saying that we just need him to be able to manage the game and not give the other team field possition. I think that there is a hang over with this offensive staff and I for one will commend Jones for being the first to step up and take his QB's back and not let him take the ridicule for some others mistakes. Now it is the rest of the offenses turn. 1-1 on the year there is plenty of time left to get this train right back on track. GO VOLS!
