4 or more losses

Yes! Excuse those garbage losses by saying other teams lost!

Sweet move!

I don't think that's what he said. He accurately pointed out that the SEC as a whole sucked this year, not just the east and wondered out loud about who Tennessee might target if a change was made. With Tom Herman off the board there isn't a clear cut, up and coming coach who might be looking to make a move.

Take your Herman statement and think about it for a second. Was Herman technically "available?" Was he let go by Houston? Was he actively on the market looking for another team? No, he wasnt. So what happened? Texas went out, made an offer and he accepted it.

Nobody knows who would be interested in Tennessee until offers are made. Tennessee is once again an attractive job. I think there would be more good coaches interested than people think. I cant guve specific names because like everyone else, I have no clue.

Herman was actively looking. Was Houston going to let him go even after he lost to 3 teams he should have easily beat? No but you can bet he was looking if not only to get more money if he didn't leave.

Maybe they are not garbage teams anymore.

SC and Vandy are garbage. Vandy lost to Missouri and Kentucky. Two teams we absolutely shredded.

South Carolina lost to UK and barely beat Vandy and UMass. Of course they have a first year HC and a HS SR QB.

They are both garbage and should never have been within 2 TDs of Tennessee.

Ok let's look at another conference that has a situation about like the SEC, the ACC. Fourteen teams and thirteen of them have three or more losses, and ten of them have ten or more losses. You can look at almost all other conferences and there is the same situation. So in all of these losers where do you go find the next elite?

OP is right though, Saban needs to retire for the good of SEC!!

.

Complaining about Saban is like complaining about Kentucky basketball, the entire team is bound for the NBA. Anyone could coach and win there. Same for Alabama.

Been saying all year that the SEC is highly overrated and I don't think that's even debatable at this point.

Big 10 is flat out better than the SEC this season by a mile.

For the 2nd straight season, Florida (who I think most would agree isn't a good football team) has the 2nd best conference record all to themselves. One of the two teams behind Florida by a game in the overall standings lost a head to head with Florida (LSU). Florida did not play the other (Auburn).

The point being is that a legitimate argument can be made that Florida is the 2nd best team in the SEC based on results that occurred on the field......and Florida is a bad football team.

I don't think Florida and Auburn would want any part of Ohio State and Michigan (teams not in their conference title game), Southern Cal (not in its conference title game), we saw what FSU did to Florida (FSU is not in its conference title game), or some of the Big XII teams who are not conference champions themselves.

The BIG problem (IMO) is that the most talented teams in the league outside of Alabama (Tennessee and LSU) did not perform up to their capabilities (for whatever reason) and so the league as a whole looks pretty damn bad.

Something tells me Butch would find a way to screw it up. Probably would blame it on youth.

I'm on board to give him another year IF and only IF he fires several coaches. Debord, the S&C coach, and several assistant/position coaches need to go on both sides of the ball. Also, hire a QB coach, for the love of God.

if CBJ replaces a bunch of coaches, won't he need several more years, instead of just one ?

doesn't it usually take a couple of years for new coaches to get things turned around ? so at least 2 years or more will be needed

I do agree he needs to replace some coaches

He's had two offensive coordinators and defensive coordinators. He's had his chance. He can win next year or get lost, and I'm pretty sure it will be the latter.
