Elon Musk is pushing the government to levee a Carbon Tax

He looks to make millions off people buying electric cars

LOL.. What do you drive... A 85' Chrysler Córdoba. Come into the real world. Just because we're fracking and making oil cheap does not make it the right choice. It will run out.

Just my opinion and not going to debate. If you disagree, I will respect your views and would appreciate the same.

Their is agendas on both sides.
The world probably won't fall to hell in the next 50 years.
On the flip side, use some common sense. If you don't want certain chemicals/emmisions
in your house, you probably don't want them in a larger scale either.

We should always try to improve and conserve.

That does not mean we have to fix everything overnight.
That is probably a suggestion of people with an agenda.

The world would be a better place if everyone would pull their heads out of a political parties butt and think for themselves on occasion.

This thread is similiar to a breakdown of talking points Fox v MSNBC.

If anyone cares, there is a UT game on tonight.

I drive a 93 Jeep with a 4 cylinder

That's if I'm not driving my private jet to New York to leave trash on the sidewalks while I protest against humans impact on Earth

This is VN. No room for logic. You MUST pick one side or the other.

the only climate change I'm concerned with is the climate on rocky top. I feel like it's fix'n to change for the better. :shades:

Really? Let me try to get this across to you. We have been here a couple thousand years? In the grand scheme of things that's a blip on the map. Patterns take so many years to change. We're not talking thousands either.

And it's not like something or someone just dropped off a few billion people. The planet including the environment adapted as the population increased over said few thousand years. He just bends unscientific facts to fit his agenda.

Ha! I can certainly answer... Just because man did not cause previous ice ages is not relevant to today. This planet has never supported 7+ billion humans before. We are deforesting the planet and killing life like never ever before...

Again, please do not ignore absolute facts. It will be your and my undoing.

This is why we need a great zombie apocalypse. Thin the herd a little bit.

The climate is always changing. That is a trait of the earth's environment. It will change with or without human intervention. But it is funny as crap when those who say it is a threat are flying about the country and telling the common citizens that they are hurting the environment. How many trips has Michelle Obama taken on jets to New York and Chicago for shopping trips? How many trips has the President taken to California for campaign donor events on Air Force One? These are the same people who want to create more energy taxes for the middle class.

If climate change was such a big issue then why did the politicians in power support the Detroit bailout and enhance the production of more cars in this country?

IMO, it's all political BS that elitist like to spread around. Remember when all the publications in the 70s said that the Ice Age is Coming. Now it's Global Warming. We have maybe 50 years of quality data to analyze of a earth that is so called millions if not billions of years old. Everything else depends on assumptions made from ice core samples, tree rings, carbon in rock samples dated back millions of years. Carbon Greenhouse gas has shown to have a very miniscule effect in the grand scheme of things. Last time I had a statistics class, there was something called a representative sample size in statistics. I do not think we're there yet. By the way, the polar bear population is increasing, the polar ice caps are getting larger again and about as large as they have ever been since we have been measuring them by satellite, sea levels may rise a tiny amount but keep in mind the land also sinks a little each year all while China and India keep emitting more Carbon in the atmosphere than the whole world ever has before. Don't buy into it. It's just another Big Government ploy.

Many of these weather patterns repeat themselves every 30 to 40 years. This is why the young fall for it because they were not around to see it happen and motivated enough to read about it. They just believe the sound bytes from Gore and Company.

Anyway.

Go Vols!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chump change on climate change.

It is 99.5% controlled by sun. 0.5% by man. I guess that gives the progressive retards grounds to spend $3 trillion combating it!

I don't know enough about the science to come to an educated conclusion about climate change, but I can definitively say that unless you find a way to change the behavior of billions of people in China and India, nothing the US or Europe do to "combat climate change" will make any difference at all. Even if climate change is real and is caused by human activity, the only way to stop the vast majority of harmful emissions would be to use force against developing countries. The UN offered credits for destroying harmful chemicals a few years back and had to stop the program when they found out that developing countries were manufacturing the chemicals in massive quantities to get the credits for destroying them.

Good point. Also Australia repealed their Carbon Tax because their economy was going in the toilet.

Australia Repeals Carbon Tax - WSJ

I say burn coal not dung. The poor in developing countries that the left claim to care about would have much higher quality of life if cheap coal was available to them.

The global warming conversation started when some important people said: "We've taxed everything else, how can we tax the atmosphere?"

And somebody answered "By making liberals believe we can manipulate the weather with tax dollars. They will fall for anything."

Coal is very important for the economy of the US as well. There are hard working families that have been forced into depending on government hand outs to feed their children thanks to environmental policies, which for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post, will have no long term positive effects. We are really hurting people with our coal policy right now.
