4 inches of snow (!!!!!) in Columbia

Anyway, I'll wait till the year 3797 when the Earth is predicted to end until I make my decision on the matter. This date is also predicted by a scientist. I have other things to worry about right now, such as whether UT can set themselves up favorably to make a bowl game this year with a win Tonite.

Oh, there is climate change for sure

Its whether man can control it is what the real question is

If its been happening before industrialization, then its not likely we will ever control it

I think that's the real issues. Its one thing the government will never control and it pisses them off

I am just skeptical on how much of that is government "agenda", the only agenda there is for not attributing any of the climate change to industrialization or fossil fuel is coming from big oil companies.

I think its time we start learning more an more about it so that we can forsee and even prevent disasters.

The average has increased 1.5F over the last 100+ years. We will know within the next 20 years right or wrong if it is human which I personally believe it is. Then we can fix the issue once everyone realize the problem. I believe we will one day might be able to simply scrub carbon from the atmosphere.

So, as far as "climate change" goes, can anyone explain to me how Greenland got its name? Also, while you are at it, please let me know how England was a big wine producer before the mini ice age?

And why do the Swiss put holes in their cheese?

The vast majority of scientists think that climate change/global warming/whatever the hell you want to call it is happening. Have a bit of evidence.

Climate Change: Vital Signs of the Planet: How do we know?

The climate is always changing. That is a trait of the earth's environment. It will change with or without human intervention. But it is funny as crap when those who say it is a threat are flying about the country and telling the common citizens that they are hurting the environment. How many trips has Michelle Obama taken on jets to New York and Chicago for shopping trips? How many trips has the President taken to California for campaign donor events on Air Force One? These are the same people who want to create more energy taxes for the middle class.

If climate change was such a big issue then why did the politicians in power support the Detroit bailout and enhance the production of more cars in this country?

Does taking a jab at 'Mother Earth' offend you? Do you meet with other Mother Earthers to discuss your philosophy?

Another example of over educated bean heads that put too much stock into what we actually control here.

I am not offended by taking jabs on "Mother earth", but just a portrayal of scientist making stuff up to get funding, so untrue.

The goal of science is not to control, but to understand.

Because politicians on either side don't give a **** about reality.

We can't produce enough electricity to meet demands without the use of fossil fuels

As society continues to grow, demand will grow

Lol.........wait...you're serious?

But the ones getting funded happen to be the ones pushing global warming

Which happens to be what a lot of our government leaders have invested millions of their own money in

See, follow the money and you get your answer

Couldn't have said it better myself. Of course the segment of people that have put all their eggs in the global warming basket don't want to hear this because it means they have to challenge what they believe in. Nothing like seeing puppets dangling from a string.

Greenland got it's name, when Erik the Red was exiled there for murder. When his exile period was over, he decided he wanted to explore the island further. Nobody wants to go to Greenland to settle if you tell the truth, so he explained it as if it was a lush paradise in order to sell people on going there. Therefore, it was deemed Greenland.

I agree, not for getting rid of fossil fuels, it has gotten us here and will get us farther. But, i think my point is to start looking for alternates that has lesser impacts on nature and bigger impact on efficiency. And, i think not understanding climate change is a big hurdle.

Noone thought, we could go to moon, we did. Noone thought we could defeat polio, we did. All because we kept looking and trying...

Greenland was given its name in an attempt to lure people there.

Elon Musk is pushing the government to levee a Carbon Tax

He looks to make millions off people buying electric cars

I've learned a lot reading this thread and would love to hang out to read more, but I've got a twenty feet tall pile of old tires I need to burn before kickoff.

I think we should concentrate on spending money on developing cleaner alternatives rather than paying someone to study cow farts and other BS research into global warming

We know we are pumping millions inti the atmosphere. Lets find out ways to decrease it that doesn't cripple our economy and put people out of work

The cost of energy in this country has caused as much damage to this economy as taxes
