4 Game Season

The preseason is over. 3-0...move on. The next four games will determine how team 120 is viewed by Volnation.

  • 4-0 SEC East Champs, favorite to win SEC Championship Game
  • 3-1 SEC East Champs, possible playoff team with SEC Championship win
  • 2-2 comes down to which games the Vols win

If the goal is to win the East, then the Florida and Georgia games are the most important. Win those two and the East is ours.

If rivalries are the goal, then the Florida and Alabama games are most important. Win those two and Volnation would be able to hold our heads high again.

The goal has to be SEC East Champions and it all starts with Florida, which is a very winnable home game.

I say the most important wins are as follows: #1 is beating Florida, #2 Georgia, #3 Alabama and #4 Texas A&M. While I would love to beat Alabama in the regular season, a match-up in the SECC would be amazing.

I watched the Bama/Ole Miss game this afternoon. Bama can score fast and often. Only way to beat them is with the deep ball, which we barely have. I think they run away with it against us. That's reality.

On the other hand, it's is starting to look like SEC-E has almost all sucky teams.

Long story short, we have a REALLY good chance of having Bama beat us twice this year.

I don't think we can completely discount the Mizzou game either, at this point. They have a nasty D-Line, which plays into our offensive weakness.

As of right now, I'm very glad that is a home game.

We wil now going against great SEC TALENT on D and at especially DE... Our OL will implode... It will not be pretty for us

right now the best we can do is 2-2

ATM is a machine
Bama is still bama though it was close it just shows you how stacked the west is.

Florida held North Texas scoreless. Not saying much, but we've not come close to doing that to an inferior team.

Sutton is gone. JRM may be playing injured. Our OL still sucks and now we are actually playong real defenses. I so want to believe that we can win 3 of these games. But the reality is we will need a ton of things to go our way for us to win 1. We will need a miracle to win 2. I see no possible way to win more than 2.

I think you should also be considering the possibility that we go 1-3 or even 0-4 in those games. Not saying we will, but definitely possible the way we have played so far.

If we can somehow go 2-2 in this stretch, I'll be pleased. I like our chances vs UGA. The other three, concerned is an understatement.

Their QB showed a very bad tendency tonight to force a lot of throws or make multiple risky throws (into either tight windows or double coverages) that ended up resulting in the multiple interceptions which decided tonight's game in the end (he went from 20 completions for 322 yards and 2 TDs in the first half.., to 3 completions and 3 interceptions in the second half).

If I'm a defender, that's the kind of stubborn, risky, almost careless type of play that I look forward to playing against that week.

I don't see why everyone is acting like the season is over, yes we have some injuries to key players but we are 3-0 going into a home game against Florida with their backup qb, we win that we get a Georgia team that hasn't looked great either both of those games are very winnable.

As long as we beat Florida and Georgia we should be sitting good for a trip to Atlanta.

well lets see first game we go to ot and beat appy state. next up was a good vt team who went ahead and we can back and beat them pretty good at bab the guys had lights in their eyes.today they came out like they left off with vt on fire then went flat and realized they weren't playing a powerhouse team. this game was after bab and before florida a good trap game but made it with a win. I'm looking to see ut at their best next week.

We could beat below average Florida and Georgia teams, but I am not confident in this being the year the UF streak ends. Would love 4-0, but 2-2 is more realistic with both 1-3 & 0-4 very possible.

I know we are a wounded team, but the time for excuses is over. This team is playing sloppy everywhere. Penalties, fumbles, lack of focus and concentration with zero execution.

And knock off the "vanilla" nonsense. After 3 games (and tight games, at that), it is just who we are. We may be capable of having an outburst on offense here and there, but it will not be the norm. If you are expecting our defense to dominate anyone for 4 quarters, I would like to point out that Al Wilson will not be taking the field any time soon.

We are playing our weakest schedule we have had in 20 years, which very well help us again improve our year over year record, but I do not see much difference (on the field) between 120, 119, and 118. Actually, to this point, we have regressed from where Team 119 had ended.

...and a QB who's inconsistent, but can sling it. They're going to have a puncher's chance in a lot of games.

Realistically, I would be ok with just a win vs Fl. I overestimated how good we are and our injuries on defense make me think 9-3 as a final record.

Just saw that Luke del Rio is likely out for the TN. game so that's got to help our chances with Florida now having more questions at QB. Beating Bama would be nice but the big picture is looking forward to Atlanta. Take care of business one game at a time and stop looking back at so so performances

If we beat the two from the east, and lose to the two from the west, I am ok with that.


We have too many injuries piling up.


Losing Cam against Georgia is really going to hurt. That Eason kid can throw 30-40 yard ropes.
