1. We won very convincingly!
2. We got our 1st stringer out early and protected them from injury as we move into serious football.
3. We gave our young players a lot of exposure to prepare them for when they are needed later in the year.
4. We have a better football team than many thought.

The real positives from the game:

1) We didn't have any serious injuries.
2) Our special teams (other than Medley's kickoff problems) were incredible.
3) We got to get a lot of good, in-game experiene for our youngsters.
4) Relatedly, but specifically, McKenzie got a ton of reps, and should be ready to play against Florida. He didn't get a ton of pressure, but he had a decent push a few times, and did a great job forcing the fumble that Shy recovered. And, Dormady got some solid experience, and looked absolutely phenomenal (for a true freshman, especially). He may not be ready to start, but he at the very least should be a serviceable backup if need be.

Also, I

Number 4 is just ludicrous. UT beat a jv squad and suddenly they're back? !

That's funny.

It's what you do against the big boys that counts. Tennessee is 0 for 1.

Can't hide behind WCU for much longer.

And yet more than a few people thought that Oklahoma would beat us much more easily than they did. A 2nd overtime loss, though depressing in how it transpired, is in itself not at all a disappointment and is equal to or greater than what most predicted.

For once I agree with you. We beat an average FCS team. There is nothing to take from this game except we had no major injuries (as far as know).

6 days to get more excuses and misdirection ready.

3 for 4 IMO. Have no idea about your last point after playing an FCS team that lost to Citadel last week.

And here comes Resident Negavol again, trying to make us feel bad after a 45 point W.

It'll be a decade old happiness that hasn't been thought of in years.

Odds are that won't happen though.

That's what will make us winning so glorious. You will be as giddy as a little school girl that was just ask to her first dance and said no.

Actually no. Just pointing out the insanity of proclaiming Tennessee is back after they beat a high school squad.

You don't like overly negative. I don't like insane proclamations of greatness.

It's where we are at the moment.

I never said we were back, but nothing wrong with a lil positivity. Guess we'll find out on Saturday. Beating OU would have been a luxury, but beating UF is a necessity.

Not a luxury up 17-0.

Maybe a luxury before game time.

Once up 17-0, it became yet another choke job.

It's not the loss, but how the loss happened.

Butch took what should have been a luxury and turned it into another red flag.

There won't be an excuse. I don't need excuses. Win a game that matters. When Butch does, people will get off his back.

But he constantly folds. Therefore you guys need your excuses.

Just to make sure I understand:
1) You're adamant about the Vols losing
2) You will almost certainly blast them if they do
3) and, if they win, you won't give any credit and you can chalk it up to "that's what should have happened"

Lol, how convenient!

So this week we're up 7-0 with the ball on the 1 yard line against a high school team and call a roll out pass which Dobbs throws 10 feet over a wide open North's head. Then we kick a field goal from the 1 yard line again. I guess we needed the points. smh
