I love the F***tards that come in and say "but they've beaten us 8 times in a rooooow".

Learn your god dang Tennessee/Alabama football history! It's always been that way. They beat us several years in a row......we beat them several years in a row. It has always been part of the rivalry.

Go to the Bama boards. The fans in the know over there still hate us with a passion, and that's as it should be. They don't care how many in a row they've won. They don't care if we've been down. They want to crush our skulls while we're down. I respect that.......Why? Because that's exactly the way I feel about them.

It's the way God meant it to be.......If not for the Tennessee/Alabama football rivalry, the world would have ended by now. :hi:

Do you think the game for the players and coaches has lost the rivalry feel since both schools have coaches that did not play in the game? Looking back some 40 years it seems to me the fans have kept up the rivalry but the coaches look at it as just another SEC game. I think when we both we had coaches that played in the game then became coaches it had a different feel.

College football in all, has changed quite a bit in just the last 5 years or so. As far as the 3rd Saturday in October goes, it's lost a lot of its hype because Bama has owned us since the Saban era started. I know this series has had it's winning streaks for both schools over the years, but the games were usually tight and could go either way late In the games. Since Saban has been at Bama, most of the games have been blow outs and not very competitive. The 09 game was the closest one in the Saban era. To get this game back to a rilvary, our Vols are going to have to start winning a few of these games again. Even though it's not been a good series for us Vols fans lately, I couldn't Imagine a season without Bama on the schedule. I remember when there was talk about this game not being played every season, and the fans on both sides were not happy about it at all. The Third Saturday in October is the best game on the Vols football schedule every year. It's like Fulmer use to say to his young guys " Your not men until you play in this game!" Then there was another thing that coach Fulmer said that's always stuck in the back of my head "It doesn't matter if either team is ranked or not, It's Bama! And we would play them in the parking lot if we had to!" That's what makes the 3rd Saturday in October special! GO VOLS!

I get what you're saying, but Neyland didn't play at either school.

He didn't but he was and still is what Tennessee Football is all about.

Without him, little if any Tradition. A good leader/coach always knows what they have to do to win and he knew AL/KY was always a threat to dominance.

Neyland was 5-0-2 vs Bryant. Bryant was at KY. Mutual Respect.

Neyland was friends with the coach at Alabama. His goal, per administration, was to even the series with Vandy. The friendly rivalry with Bama turned into a not so friendly rivalry.

He was the beginning of the rivalry.

There will always be tradition involving this game. Butch knows how important this game is. It will never just be another game.

Football is all the state of Alabama has going for them. Realistically, we should feel sorry for them for having to live in Alabama.

Let it be known that Kevin Scarbinsky is a Barner!! He is a TROLL to the nth degree!! AL.com and the Birmingham News are all run and controlled by Barners. BAMA beat writers wouldn't write anything of the sort EVEN IF THEY KNEW IT TO BE TRUE.

How could Alabama let us win 10 of 12 before the last 8 years? People don't remember past 5 minutes ago in today's world.

Admittedly, I didn't click on the link. I don't want to take a chance on getting a virus on my computer.

Neyland > Bryant

nah, Bammers arent smart enough to know how to program a virus, so youre safe, im surprised they even got a website up and going, hats off for that

Should be read out loud to the team by Peyton. Maybe he can remind them how he took care of AL.

I hate them so much. They are a bunch of inbred, gap toothed, trailer trash. There isn't a single good thing about Alabama. Not one. I hope their whole program falls to the ground. I pray every single day for Death and Pestilence to befall that entire state. The hate I have for Alabama burns white hot every year. Their "fans" who before 2007 were hard to find here in Middle Tennessee are now everywhere. Honestly, I see more "A"s around here than the Power T. That makes me sick. We have to beat them and soon. This 8 year stretch has made me sick. I want to go in there on Saturday, and show the world that Alabama isn't some invincible warrior. It's going down like Frazier baby! Go Big freaking Orange!

Although what your saying makes perfect sense, and I agree with you. I still hate you on a cellular level.

If it weren't for Fulmer moonlighting as an NCAA investigator to help put Alabama on probation, the Crimson Tide could empathize with its proud former rival.

And if it wasn't for Bama's chronic cheating Fulmer wouldn't have needed to moonlight in the first place.

I hate everything Bama-related with every fiber of my being.

I drive past Alabama's capitol twice on my commute. I've taken it upon myself to blare Rocky Top as loudly as possible on my drive through the Gump.

We may not win, but they're going to know we're here.

Keep it up! Hopefully, they will hear it more during the game.
