3rd & Long/4th Down D....How to Improve?

What about 4th?

4th & 1 is hard to stop when they have a guy like Richardson at QB. Then on 4th & 2 they hit us with a perfectly thrown 40 yard bomb. I’m sure there’s things we could’ve done better but some credit has to go to UF.

They stopped the run cold, they contained Richardson better than I thought they would. If they had bull-rushed him on that last scoring drive they would have beat the line.

Send at least 5 guys coming like a bats out of hell. And DBs stick their man for more than 3 seconds.

This is the thing that baffled me during the game, it was obvious when we brought pressure it affected Richardson yet we continued to play coverage and got beat time and again, our line did a good job but they are not on a level to disrupt plays on their own time after time and we gave the defensive backs no help and we know that's our weak link, hopefully they learn from this moving forward, play teams like we played Pitt, be aggressive.
