This would work. Also throw in some Lamb of God.

Side note, where is your avatar pic from. Looks like a nice blue bird day

that was skiing on spring break in Steamboat Springs Colorado. First time my 3 sons have been on a mountain. One of my top 3 most enjoyable vacations. Special needs teen is in the pic with me and skied well. Got up time after time after falling. 7 yr old was cutting up blues on day 2. What a great week.

UT definitely needs to be wary of how much they play the song, be careful to not overuse it, and be careful to not play it in the wrong spots.

That said, when people start griping about the song being used at all, I think it needs to be remembered that THE PLAYERS chose the song.

The song will still say "turn down for what" but the jumbotron will read "3rd down for what." It showed it tonight.

Someone told me that Sterling Henton "Sterl tha Perl", former Vol QB and current DJ dubbed in his own lyrics to make it right.

Not sure if true.

There is a new rule change allowing piped in music to be played on 3rd downs, it looks like can only be played before the snap. More than likely ever SEC team will be implementing this. They played just a small loop (maybe 10-15 seconds) of just the "turn down or what" part of the song and then the bass kicks in. That part is pretty deafening so it works pretty well. Couple that with the crowd going nuts and it will be hard on the offense.

It really is not as big a deal as some are making it out to be.

Im sorry but..Rocky Top never gets old!!

I agree completely. But there is room for new traditions too.

If it focuses the Defense and the crowd noise makes it harder to play against...bring it on because the "3rd & Chavis" tradition at UT is what has really gotten old.

At this point I would love to have some of Chavis' defenses back but I know what you mean.

I've said it @ 10 times today at random times. No idea why. While running thru rain to take out the garbage. While throwing laundry in the drier. While feeding the dogs. While watching the dog's poop in the yard. While watching them run after they poop.

Don't like it!

It is about damn time. The students will roll with this, and hopefully get the dead ass-s off their seats. Rocky Top is great, but not a 3rd down song. Several schools have chants etc all done in unison, we don't. I wish we had a traditional chant, but we do not.

Sooo all these people saying "if that's what CBJ wants"... Watch the Von Pearson interview after the practice. He says "that's the song we picked. The players picked. It gets us excited when the crowd liked it too." I mean you may not like it, but straight out of the players mouth...

The fist up thing really did not take hold last year. Now we have a theme song for it so it's at least catchier. Of course at times we had trouble stopping a cold so it may have suffered for those reasons.
