3rd Down Play Calling Horrendous

Chandler was money this game. Constant 4-8 yard rushes. Just didn't feed him nowhere near enough
There's probably a reason for that. He could probably carry the load, but unlike Butch with how he handled Hurd, they're not going to try to turn him into a workhorse back. Tim Jordan was the bruiser, so with him gone it's hard to say. I know they were working with Beckwith recently, and it's too early to tell what rolls Hodge and Small will fill. Will be interesting to see what this group looks like going forward. Wish Cody Brown graduated a year early lol

Honestly the only reason I see is Chaney was clueless and stubborn about making the pass work lol

Our receivers, in my opinion, did an outstanding job with what they had to work with at quarterback. For the first game of the year, under the circumstances, was proud to just get out of this game with a W !!!!! At times our quarterback makes the most difficult passes, but the simple passes SUCK ,a lot of times !!!!

Agreed. This offense needs splash plays with the run game and I thought that’s what a big oline was for.

I think it’s partially a product of JG’s nerves. It’s hard to explain why he misses so many important throws. All his success comes on early downs. When we absolutely need a throw em he almost never delivers. I’d say that sc lost this game more so than us winning it

I watched the UGA game was pulling for Arky going well at first the UGA QB couldn't hit the side of a barn door. They put in the backup 4th string last Spring, Stetson maybe a walkon not sure. He didnt do anything incredible but every time someone was open he hit them in stride. It got to where when I seen them execute a play I knew it was gonna work. My hopes for an upset were dashed with a QB change. This is all I would ask for in a QB even a Daryl Dickey type going back a few years.

Yeah, H.B. needs reps asap, and I think the Oline will get better.

I don/t know who the backup is but that wont happen .Even though our receivers got open almost at will the passes where hit and miss did have 2 pretty passes late. and his hest run of career Don't know how many where missed throughout the game that where drive killers but it killed any chance of blowout. The final score should have been like last year at least. JG did the one thing to keep the job no Int no fumbles (a Pruitt must) . We have won 7 in a row 4 on last drives/runout the clock games. Hope this stays with us these guys don't give up is a positive. Call it luck or perseverance but after Missouti these blundering through games will not turn out well.

The biggest problem I have with the third down play calling is there was a couple times it was third and about three or four, and we threw the ball. The best player on our team is a future first round pick at guard. You run the ball right up his backside in those situations. If you don’t get it at least you got your best player involved.

Reason was the 6-8 guys in the box every play!!! You can’t block 8 with 5 no matter who you have on the o line! Have to throw and make some throws....
