3 3rd down conversions of over 10 yards already.
1st one was 3rd and 6 on drive where they pinned us at 1.
on td drive they converted 3rd and 11...
both plays we lined up 15 yards off ball and rushed 3..

stupid.

i find myself praying for 3rd and short.

don't get me wrong..i think D playing hard. but i do not like schemes of 3rd and long in 1st half

I agree, we had 3rd and 15 and i saw linebacker back up about 15 yards and the qb had all time to play.

We're playing deep coverage to take away deep balls and big plays.

I made this comment earlier and was told it's stupid.

At least they've only given 7. It also helps that Florida's offense is bad.

Not worried. Wilcox has held them to 7 points and that was only because of a bogus non-call and gifted field position for FL.

Expect a totally different look in the 2nd half on defense...that was Wilcox's M.O. in Boise.

It's only game three of Wilcox's tenure. I think he has schemed brilliantly to stop Demps so far.

I've watched all these games this year and just wonder how different the defensive backfield would be if Myles wasn't a moron and if Oliver hadn't shredded his knee.

Add in Walls/Martin...and I really think this defense could've been special.

Good lord. Yeah, we gave them up and it's frustrating...


But it was 3 freakin' plays. They've been on point through most of the game. Find something better to b@#ch about like Simms. D has been playing excellently considering it's in the first year of the scheme (and about 5 different packages) and how young some of our players are.

If they get there fast enough.

Whether it's a sack or just hurrying a throw, it's better than letting them have all day to convert it anyways.

I'd rather over pursue than not pursue at all.

You can't win the game if you don't play the game.

EITHER OF YOU CARE TO RECANT AFTER THAT DRIVE.

catch a clue..first off the schemes are good on 1st and 2nd but on 3rd Wilcox is lost.

Defense only as good as the schemes and on 3rd UT is losing this game... PERIOD.
3rd down get off field....defense can catch a breath...yes there are many other issues for UT..
but stop 3rd down and they have 14 less points for you ultimate geniuses out there....

Scheme is fine. Players are morons. Evans and Waggner shouldn't be playing...Myles and Oliver should be.

Oh well...
