That would be my vote, but I don't mind either way.

I'm just worried about the evenness of the teams. Granted, I haven't exactly looked into it that much. Also, I'd like to control a 6-star team for the hell of it.

If we can pick whatever team, dibs on TCU. Will settle for SMU or Texas Tech.

All I know is, I don't want to pick last again. I got the worst rated team overall and in the standings in other dynasty when we started lol.

But just tossing an idea out... what if we form a new Big 12? Something like....

6* Oklahoma
4* Oklahoma State
4* Arkansas
3* Texas Tech
3* Tulsa
2* Baylor
----------------------------------------
6* Texas
4* Texas A&M
4* TCU
3* SMU
3* Houston
2* Rice

Nobody can pick Oklahoma or Texas obviously. That way we can have a conference championship game pitting an 8-4 team against a 9-3 team and even that might be a stretch lol

I like where you're going with that. How about we fix it to where Users have 4-star teams, and each division has one 6-star team and one 2-star team.

What other 4* teams would make sense? I suppose TCU did go to the big east.

I was just running with the original idea and did it this way so we have a combination of 4/3* to choose from.

There aren't enough 4 star teams to do that.

In the Southwestern idea, all available teams are fairly even. And I like the idea of getting to play everyone else in the conference, so like 6-7 user games.

Aren't enough 4* to do what?

It's no different than your idea only it adds another 4* in Oklahoma State.

It would be three 3* vs. three 4* in your scenario.

It would be four 3* vs. four 4* in my scenario.

I'll do your scenario as long as I don't end up with Houston, Baylor or Rice. Don't really want Texas A&M either to be honest. Would just be nice to end up with a team I actually want to play with this time around lol. I would have settled for Oregon State, Arizona State, Washington, NC State, and Northwestern in our other dynasty and didn't get a single one. If I end up with a team I don't want again, will be severely depressed lol ;)

Ok here are the prestige ratings (rating, offense, defense, sp. teams)

Texas B+ B+ B+ B+ 6
Houston B B+ C+ B 3
SMU B+ B+ B B- 3
Texas Tech B B B B- 3
Texas A&M A- A B+ B 4
Rice D+ C- C C- 2
TCU A- A B+ B 5
Arkansas A- A B+ B 4
Baylor B B+ B- B 2

So with the exception of Rice, everyone else is pretty close. Baylor is better than a 2* team.

EDIT: If we add Oklahoma, Ok State, and Tulsa...

Oklahoma A+ A+ A A 6
Oklahoma State A- A B A 5
Tulsa B B B B- 3

So yeah that could work.

EDIT 2: After some further research, Oklahoma and Okie State were both briefly in the SWC so realism is good. Haha

Tulsa, not so much, but my dislike for odd number of teams outweighs my SWC realism

Nashvol suggested all 4 star teams it sounded like.

I don't care what we do, I just wanna play haha :)

Well, since you put it like that, I'm kinda warming up to the idea.

Oh, gotchya. I thought you meant my idea didn't work. It's really whatever for me, I don't care. Like I said, I just want to pick a team I actually want to play with. And honestly, I say I want TCU, SMU or Texas Tech and I've never even looked at their roster. I'm just going by who I like in real life and who I dislike.

So we're picking based on record in the other dynasty right? So like the worst record picks first? Followed by head to head if it's a tied record and if it's a tied record without playing, randomized? Make it like a real draft, the worst team(user) picks first! lol

Psssh. I've played a lot of people in our dynasty more than once and they've beaten me more than once lol. I already got the worst team once and I might be the worst in the dynasty, shouldn't I get some extra help? lol

:lolabove:

Then I get stuck with Rice or Baylor, whichever 865 doesn't want.

I wouldn't mind your idea OP, adding Oklahoma, State, and Tulsa. I added them to my earlier post of ratings. That way we could have a conference Championship

It's really whatever. If we do the first one and only have 6 users, everyone would be at least a 3*. I'd rather not be a 3* after playing with Purdue. My QB for Northern Texas is finally a senior in my 3rd season and it makes a difference. He wasn't even badly rated as a sophomore and junior but there is a big leap game play wise from 80 to 85.

How about we allow 6-stars? I mean if we're going to do 5,4, and 3 stars, why not do 6,5 and 4 stars?

Do you guys want a randomized draft, or based off our record in op's dynasty?

But most of us have played our user games. That kind of indicates who is the better user... sorta. A lot of close games I'm sure. I wasn't scheduling user games 8 weeks away. If you can beat users, you can probably beat the CPU. Then again, I have the worst record lol

All I'm saying is, I really don't want to start at the bottom again. Granted we're all 3*, my team started out like 80th in the polls and is like a B- while I think every other team was in the top 40 and B or B+. I had the 7th pick for Maryland but offered it to the 8th user if that's what he preferred. And I started out 1-0 vs. a user and when the dynasty advanced on it's own, I replayed the user and ended up losing. I just took the loss even though I could have been 1-0. Which probably would have helped with recruiting and quite possibly becoming a 4* school, might not even be a 4* school in year 2. Although gorocky and I had a heck of a game going that could have gone either way and we just simulated it and I lucked out into a win. I just know my luck and I just don't want to start out at the bottom of both dynasties I'm in lol

I say we do this:

Southwestern Conference
No one can pick Oklahoma or Texas (unfair recruiting advantage)

OP can pick first, then randomize. Even the last player picking won't get a BAD team.

BUT... we still need to find two or three more people. I say cap this at 8 people, cause no one can have Texas/Oklahoma and no one WANTS Rice or Baylor haha

I'm down to give op first pick since he got screwed in the other one, and the randomize the rest?

If I'm just gonna be handed the first pick, tempted to pick Arkansas. When I wanted to be TCU, I really thought they were 4*. Knowing they are 5* while everyone else is picking 4 and 3*, I don't think I'd feel right being handed the best team.

So there has to be some kind of flash based paper rock scissors game that we can use to pick teams. I care more about style of play and location than I do prestige level.
