Agree - with the creation of the larger conferences, the move to 12 really wasn't necessary.

Cut down the regular season back to 11 games, cutting one meaningless non conference game. Go to 16 and the higher seeds host.

They mean the exact same thing they did before; hell some like the NY6 actually mean something now because they are a playoff game.

The Liberty Bowl, the Music City Bowl, the Citrus Bowl....mean exactly the same thing they did 40 years ago: pretty much nothing more than a glorified participation trophy.

How about the power 4 conference champions play it off. This revives the conference championship games and ends at the same place. Let the Big 5 have their own championship.

That's going to be a lot of bad football, a random outcome, and the regular season will need to cut down to about 9 or 10 games. Nobody will like it.

4 is better. They really need to go back to 4 teams. BCS with just 2 teams is better than 12.

What? You drop championship week, not needed to make the playoffs. 32 becomes 16 that weekend instead. 16 home teams of course.

With no byes 16 becomes 8 instead of 12 becomes 8. Still at home sites OR discuss using bowl sites. Travel costs for fans a factor.

And pick it up from there like this weekend and beyond.

Many of those 'meaningless' bowls were better than the asskicking Bama is getting. Hell ours was a much better game. the only thing that makes this good is that Gump is getting curb stomped.
