I was there! Best bowl game I have ever been to!

I remember it well. Miami and Jimmy Johnson talking about every reason they should be #1 with a win and UT smokes them 35-7. Jeff Powell's 60 yard TD run was icing on the cake.

When that track star broke it... goose bumps man.

I also was there. Probably my best bowl game experience of the ones I have attended.

When the U's captians didn't shake our captians hands at the kickoff that just pissed off the entirety of Vol Nation. In hindsight I bet Vinny really wished they hadn't done that :)

First game I remember watching as a Vol fan. I was probably 5 or 6 years old. Been crazy over the Vols ever since :)

Powell killed it that day. I have his run permanently ingrained in my memory. I can see him right now

They sold more Jack that weekend in New Orleans, than they did the entire year. The elixir of Champions.

I was 13 and I remember it like it was yesterday. You didn't have the Internet or sports talk radio. You got the stories from the paper and evening news.

The build up to that game was off the charts. You had the Battle of New Orleans song, the Bowl Brothers, etc.

I love today's technology, but that was a special time.

Crazy thing is that Miami was playing in the Sugar Bowl, while Oklahoma won a National Championship in Miami's home stadium.

I was there, but can't remember a damned thing that happened after the 1st quarter. Fortunately, my (future) wife recorded it for me. I do remember that Jackson Square, on New Year's Eve, was one of the scariest places I have ever been. Just had to go in the direction of the crowd.
