Have you seen the video of him throwing passes to NFL WR's at the pro bowl? I think football is gonna be in his future.Has anyone even considered the fact that it’s possible Marshall may not even turn out to be….good at football? Lol.
Hard to know how heavily we’re going to recruit an 8th grader when it’s not even clear if he’ll be worth recruiting yet.
I don't know about present day but when I was young (70's) there was Combustion Engineering, U.S. Pipe, Siskin Steel, TVA, Wheeling Foundry, Wilson Golf, CMI (asphalt machinery). And Blue Cross, Blue Shield.Anybody have an explanation for the amount of old money in Chattanooga that can support such high caliber private schools?
Coca Cola and Olan Mills still have money present there. McCallie alone is still funded heavily by Ted Turner.I don't know about present day but when I was young (70's) there was Combustion Engineering, U.S. Pipe, Siskin Steel, TVA, Wheeling Foundry, Wilson Golf, CMI (asphalt machinery). Mine enjoys Soddy Daisy. Have some really good programs and most any public school is a good school if your kid takes advantage of it and doesn’t just screw off. Signal has a bunch of rich kids going there that don’t go to one of the private schools. Pretty decent school but they have issues like any other school does, including a bunch of a-holes because they have money. CSAS does well because it actually takes someone putting effort to get their kids in there. Also takes parental support which is what makes all the difference in a good quality education. As far as Baylor and McCallie. Lots of money in Chattanooga, between all the car dealerships, big companies like Coke, the newspaper back in the day, BlueCross, Unum and plenty of others and as said above Ted Turner still gives large sums of money to McCallie.Other than Signal Mountain, I’m not sure I’d send my child to any public school in Chattanooga today. A lot of people have incomes capable, but there are tuition assistance programs at each. Add to it boarding school programs. Back in the 70s when we played Baylor, a significant number of guys were from out of state, including all the Hannah boys from Alabama.
