'30 TN QB Marshall Manning

I always heard it as:
McCallie = Old Money
Baylor = New Money
Old/New money may be more true about day students than boarding students. I have no idea about the Baylor coeds.

To the extent there's any truth in the politeness stereotype, it would probably be due to McCallie's continued emphasis on Christian virtues attracting families for whom that's important. Credit to diligent moms and dads.

It's a great rivalry which, after graduation, tends to become a positive bond between former opponents. Historically, it generates its own brotherhood. Every McCallie boy who sacks or intercepts Marshall will likely become a friend or fan for life. All good!

My old Chatt friends said Baylor is quite the soccer school suggesting maybe Marshall is more of a soccer player than football player.

He's got to have QB genes and I've seen the clips that seem to say he does. If he turns out to be McAfee, Peyton may disown him. 😂

Has anyone even considered the fact that it’s possible Marshall may not even turn out to be….good at football? Lol.

Hard to know how heavily we’re going to recruit an 8th grader when it’s not even clear if he’ll be worth recruiting yet.
His highlight film from 7th grade that I saw showed the kid could sling the ball.

To be fair, I think a lot of what’s being said about Marshall is being said mostly in jest. But as long as he has the Manning last name he’s gonna get sky high hype. Even if he’s nothing special, just being a Manning will put him on a pedestal.

Having 3 consecutive generations of high level P4 starting QB's in the family will do that.

That's not stopping Georgia

Nearly four years ago, Peyton actually told Smart to recruit Marshall.

"I got a chance to talk to Peyton before the game (Tennessee vs Georgia in Knoxville in 2021), but it was more about his son," said Smart. "He wants me to recruit his son."
