30 for 30 on ‘97 Heisman on now - it’s fantastic.

It will always be a travesty and disgrace that Peyton didn’t win the Heisman. I blame Sports Illustrated and ESPN for that cause Peyton far and away deserved it. They were just determined not to give it to another SEC QB two years in a row.

I still hate Chris Fowler

That smug little "trailer park frenzy" comment will never -- and should never -- be forgotten. And of course, when confronted, he liked to equivocate by saying "I never called Tennessee fans trailer park trash." He knew damn well what he did say though, and he was proud of it, just like he was proud to hand the Heisman trophy over to Woodson at the ceremony.

And just in case no one got the memo, ESPN followed up a few years later with that elevator commercial where they put every patronizing hillbilly stereotype in the universe in an elevator with Lee Corso -- complete with a pig they named Rocky Top. A little wink back for Vol fans for resenting Fowler's remarks.

You can bet they got some hearty chuckles out of that up in Bristol.
Yep and I’ve never forgotten it, efff him and ESPN and also Keith Jackson he pushed pretty hard for Woodson winning the heisman as well.

Yes, and a couple of months after Peyton was robbed of his Heisman, the Downtown Athletic Club, “The Home of the Heisman”, filed for bankruptcy. Not much has changed with the award. It is said to be awarded to the athlete who performed the best on the field AND displayed the highest level of character off the field. With this in mind, they chose to award it to a kid that writes “f*** UTAH” across his knuckles in their conference championship game. What a joke. Replace the Heisman with the Burlsworth Award. At least it’s more likely to go to a kid who appreciates the award and the hard work/sacrifice it takes to earn it.

ESPN hates us

I have no idea how much or how little ESPN hates us, but it's fair to say they don't do us no favors.

And then, take that treatment and compare it with how lavishly they've praised and fawned over Alabama for the past fifteen years, well, it just lets you know - they're totally capable of being respectful when they want to be.

Yeah it is irritating.
I think I’ve watched one, maybe two, presentations since Manning was robbed in 1997.

I will never forget how ESPN campaigned for Woodson to win. They had his highlights throughout every sport center episode. I felt so bad for Peyton as the camera stayed on him after the announcement. As usual, he handled it well.

The Heisman is an Amateur award.

GOAT Peyton got the last word.

In 16 full seasons:

5 x NFL MVPs (Untouchable)
7 x 1st Team All Pro (Untouchable)

[For context, Tom Brady 3 and 3, played 22 years.]

When Woodson came up for NFL HOF, the committee debated 40 minutes.

When PManning came up, there was ZERO debate.

I'll always despise Keith Jackson for hijacking our championship game win by making it about his bullschiit phony "retirement".
He totally did hijack it I remember my dad hated that and it was still a ballgame in the last minutes of the game. FSU had the ball down 7 and Keith and Bob Griese are carrying on and on about him retiring not paying much attention to the game and then the fool unretires and comes back the next season. It def took the spotlight off our historical win.

You forgot to mention Jameis Winston and his "character" issues. And Cam Newton for that matter.
