Year after year....

To hell with all the hype. Talk means nothing. Beat Florida. Beat Georgia. Win the SEC East. Stop talking ish publicly about teams that have owned us over the last decade. That's what Vandy fans do to us and we laugh at them because it is a joke. Bust your butts this summer. Make team chemistry a priority. Unleash fury every single Saturday this fall. Keep your mouths shut and embarrass every opponent on the field. That's the only way you get respect.

Are you actually talking to me and the other computer people directly? Because it is coming off as a little angry. And frankly, I think you should be saying all of this to someone who actually is on the team.

But, for the record, I only trash talk people who I'll never meet, the only chemistry I prioritize is organic, I find it far easier to embarrass myself than opponents on the field and the last bout of "fury" I "unleashed" was on a weed wacker that wouldn't start. Lasted 2 minutes, left me exhausted and the lawn still gets me none of this respect you speak of.

In short, I need a life coach. You. Are. Hired.

Tennessee hasn't won the SEC Eastern Division in over a decade. The hype train is getting a little ridiculous. I really hope the team and coaches ignore all this and just focus on being their best each week and winning games. Nothing in the media or by the media and fan base will beat Florida, prevent getting upset in the early part of the season or accomplish their team goals for this year. They have enough distraction as is without all the hype. The Florida and Arkansas games last year are still too sobering.

Sent from my LG G4.

2007 is less than a decade

Nobody owns Tennessee. Nobody. We have beaten Florida the last two years and we will blow them away at Neyland this year. We own UF, UGA, and Bama. Always have and always will.

He inherited an offense littered with future NFL players so, yes, I think he did.

Littered huh?

I thought Dooley inherited an overrated Kiffin recruiting class and a roster that didn't have 85 schollys!?

He inherited something but it wasn't NFL stars

Jones inherited a tire fire from Dooley. It was an absolute mess from A to Z.

However, the guy you responded to was right about Jones inheriting a handful of players (he didn't say "stars") who are now on NFL rosters:

James Stone, Atlanta
Zach Fulton, KC
Juwan James, Miami
Dan McCullers, Pitt
Matt Darr, Miami
Justin Coleman, NE
Jordan Williams, Miami

Doesn't include practice squad players Justin Worley (Chicago) and Rajion Neal (Oakland).

go back to the day CBJ was hired. We all would have taken being considered favorite to win the SEC east and a top 15 program in 4th season. Exactly where they are.

Top 10 actually. If you look at all the preseason polls we average out to #8.

I'm not a dooley supporter but come on... Dooley didn't have a full team of scholarship players bc kiffin left. Between all the transfers, most overrated recruiting class (according to some sites) by kiffin and players getting kicked off. NO ONE wanted this job. Dooley had walk ons playing DT. Yes, he still left a "tire fire" but at least Butch a full team.

Anyway, enough bickering about the past! GO VOLS!

My tire fire comment had equally as much to do with the low morale, the horrible APR academic mess, the damaged High School coach relationships and the broken culture....as it had to do with the players Dooley left Butch.

I've not argued against any of your points besides the one I thought you were making disputing the NFL players that Butch inherited from Dooley....I listed them earlier. Apologies if I misunderstood your post/point.

Personally, I think CBJ has done an amazing job of turning this thing around in an almost unbelievable short amount of time.

Agreed. I was thinking 6-8 yrs after kiffy and dools, all the recruits we lost, and the absolute mess UT was in. CBJ and staff have done an amazing job and we are now relevant again in college football.

:salute:

KB you are spot on. Too many people just focus on the players and forget about all of the other crap CBJ inherited. The biggest being the piss poor culture. Changing the culture on the hill is as big if not bigger than the great things he has done upgrading our roster.
