Post-Spring College Football Ranking Of All 128 Teams | College Football News

"3. Tennessee (9-4)

2015 Final Season Ranking: 27
2015 Preseason Prediction: 7-5

It’s time for Tennessee to stop all the playing around and actually start to win something. Butch Jones has had long enough to put all his recruits in place to make this all go, and after coming painfully close to doing big things last season with four tough losses, it’s time to be on the right side of those. There’s still work to be done this fall, but if the offense really can start to create more big plays, look out."

Personally, I think CBJ has done an amazing job of turning this thing around in an almost unbelievable short amount of time.

In all fairness, he's had a lot easier teams to play then Dooley, and he hasn't done well in the hard ones.

Ummm...I don't agree, BOV.

In three years, Dooley faced one Power 5 opponent worth a poop: Oregon. His next-toughest ooc opponent? NC State (7-6). Third toughest? Cincinnati (which were 10-3 that year, coached by guess who? Yep, CBJ).

So...Oregon...NC State...Cincinnati.

Butch's three toughest ooc opponents? Oregon...Oklahoma...and Oklahoma.

Call Oregon and Oregon a wash. That leaves facing Oklahoma twice against playing NC State and Cincinnati. I know which sounds easier to me....

You're gonna come back and say that the SEC slate was harder 2010-2012 than it was 2013-2015. You might be right. But I'd like to see your argument of the point.

Those pesky, pesky facts... Always derailing posts on VN.

#1 in preseason hype

Year after year....

To hell with all the hype. Talk means nothing. Beat Florida. Beat Georgia. Win the SEC East. Stop talking ish publicly about teams that have owned us over the last decade. That's what Vandy fans do to us and we laugh at them because it is a joke. Bust your butts this summer. Make team chemistry a priority. Unleash fury every single Saturday this fall. Keep your mouths shut and embarrass every opponent on the field. That's the only way you get respect.

If this is true, we should have no problem actually winning (on the field, not in the hype dept) games against FL and Bama. Looks like CBJ is going to take us to the NC THIS YEAR! CBJ is the greatest coach alive today-we should be thankful the NFL doesn't buy him out!

Tennessee hasn't won the SEC Eastern Division in over a decade. The hype train is getting a little ridiculous. I really hope the team and coaches ignore all this and just focus on being their best each week and winning games. Nothing in the media or by the media and fan base will beat Florida, prevent getting upset in the early part of the season or accomplish their team goals for this year. They have enough distraction as is without all the hype. The Florida and Arkansas games last year are still too sobering.
