Looks like it is up to USC, UF and UT...what percentage do you give each team in winning the East?

UF 35%
USC 35%
UT 30%

I think UT is the slight underdog in this race even though we control our own destiny. This team still shows no pass rush and no deep threat in the passing game. Run game looked the best it has in a long time but we need to see if it is consistent.

if you're going to include a two loss florida, you have to include a one loss UK team for now. I'm not one for percentages, i'm usually too pessimisstic.

Nah..I am not including UK. I don't see that one happening. They still have UF, UT, UGA, and LSU to play. In other words, I consider their chances to be 0.

Even though I think SC has looked pretty good at times, they probably have the worst schedule with Florida at home and trips to Knoxville and Arkansas left.

Lack of a deep threat will hurt this team at some point. Probably on the road. Pass rush was better but still not nearly consistant enough. We have a punchers chance.

We have a punchers chance.

I think that's pretty accurate. With the weaknesses we have it's doubtful we will run the table, but at the same time, if you look at the schedule I don't know that you can say that there's a single team left that we aren't going to have a pretty good shot at beating.

Other than LSU, the SEC this year is as close as it's ever been. UT could beat, or lose to, any of the remaining conference teams, except perhaps Vandy. If UT plays the way it did Saturday, it will beat anyone it plays.

I wouldn't count Georgia or Kentucky out of the SECE race.

Viewing those three only:
UT - 45% (controls destiny and plays USC as home)
USC - 30% (controls destiny but tough remaining schedule)
UF - 25% (needs help from other teams even if they win out)

GA is a goner as far as I am concerned. Needs major help from other teams and still has to play UF and Auburn that I know of. Hasn't won a SEC East game in over a year.

dont see how UF has the best chance, still have to go to columbia and you know spurrier will have something for them...at the same time UT has two really tough games remaining IMO that is USC and Bama...I think if they win on the third saturday in october it will give the motivation to finish out the SEC unscathed...so i am going with

UT: 45%
USC: 35%
UF: 20%
UF:

Don't forget Arky, Volfanmike.
Arky is tough but with all the turmoil going on in Fayetteville just dont see it happening, it all depends on which UT team shows up...a lost to USC or Bama could send this season down the toilet and we will be wondering why we even had this conversation. KY is fixing to drop 3 in a row and you can write them off, if Arkansas peaks by Nov 10th who knows....going to be wierd couple of months....I just pray we beat bama

If the VOLS are able to run (BIG IF) like they did on Saturday, we wont have any need for a deep threat until we play LSU.

SC is sitting in the best seat now since they have 1 SEC loss and it's out of division.

If we lose another and UF doesn't, they get the edge on us.

UGA is screwed since they have 2 SEC losses both to divisional opponents.

Against LSU you would need more like a miracle.

Agree with all of this.

oddly enough, Vandy has the stingiest defense of any team remaining on the Vols' schedule (for now). SC, Bama and Arky are all in the same general neighborhood (giving up close to 325-350 ypg), which is where UGA and UF are as well.

I understand your reasoning behind UF's chances at a title game...but at the same time they have now lost two in a row, i know they owned us at Gainesville but its going to be interesting to see what UM comes up with during the off week, didnt he say something like "you judge the soul of a man when he gets hit in the mouth and comes back for more." wonder what it will read like this week..."you judge the soul of a man when i should have called timeout to give my team 1:30 seconds to win the game instead of 35 seconds...end quote.

UF has to play usc and UK on the road, and uga in Jacksonville. No way they are winning all three, so the are out of the picture. UT has to beat miss st., ark and bama on the road, which is not that difficult and must beat usc at home, which is very likely. USC--uf at home, ut on the road--they'll beat uf, but lose to ut.

Well, that 3 team race for the East Division is home to 5 out of 6 teams ranked in the AP25. Kudos to whoever goes to Atlanta.

we also have to beat UK in kentucky... which means stopping woodson
woodson is overated...spur-dog proved that on thursday....kentucky loses 3 in a row and then drops to number 4 to uga and 5 to ut....still a very successful year in big blue nation though..

Lawgator, don't let your bias show when you do these. Is there a chance UF wins the SECE? Sure, but there is no way to say they have the best chance at this point. Thats absolutely ridiculous. They could win out and still not win the SECE. They have a good shot to win out, but its not a given. The winner of the USC/UT game will win the SECE. Thats my prediction. I think UT is as good as or better than every team on the remainder of its schedule. The team remaining that is probably as good as UT is USC. They also have a coach who knows how to beat Fulmer. That is the scary game.
